I'm pretty overweight.
6" and 230lbs. I'd settle for being 200lbs again, but my seditary lifestyle isn't going away any time soon, and I rarely ever exercise. I eat better and only drink water now, but I'm not going to lose anything more if I don't start exercising agan. XD
You think you're overweight? I'm 5'8" at give or take 213lbs, even if I have muscle and a medium/big body frame. If I keep at it or try harder, I can bring that down to 170, which would be my ideal weight for my height and frame.
Mind you, there are many ways to go about dieting, and that's up to individual selection. Working out though is a case by case thing that doesn't apply to everyone. I have asthma, so therefore I focus a lot of my weight loss by building muscle and and the same time burn off calories/fat compared to cardio workout. so my workout usually consists of a 2:1 ratio of muscle training to cardio simply because of my condition, but I'm still working at it. (Gained back weight in college, starting gym in June.) Right now I'm working out in my basement with two 10lb dumbbell, but you can do a lot with just those. If you wanna know some home excercises with a pair of dumbbells, PM me or ask in in this thread. I've been maintaining my weight so far while regaining my former strength.
As for running on a treadmill? Trust me, that's not going to make you lose weight, but going on the stepper or stair master will. Running/joggin is overall cardio improvement and body fitness, but if weight loss is your thing, use the treadmill sparingly and use that time to go on the stepper or stairmaster. I've done both, compared times, and the numbers don't lie - you burn more calories using the stepper/stairmaster.
