If you was able to get one mech, which one you would ask for

As the title says, you get to pick one mech from any anime or game for your personal use, which one you would get?

My personal choice YF-19 Valkyrie AKA VF-19 Excalibur.

EDIT: And to make this a bit clearer, this topic is something like you were selected to be a mecha pilot by a organisation, they will give you any mecha that you can find in any anime, game or manga, to you to pilot and fight.

just to smite lordofpuppets im gonna go with anubis. if the pilot wasnt such a power hungry official i think the final victory would have easily gone this almighty orbital frame. not to say that jehuty dont rock n roll cause man can that thing fly, but anubis had more attitude in my opinion.

Hmm.. the mecha I would choose is not one that had actually been in any fiction yet, well it has, sorta, it would be a composite of technologies taken from several sources...it would also have magic, and win. I think, it would involve an active stealth system, probably a veritech hull (versatility wins in combat), green lantern tech (it is tech after all) as a power source(an object the size of a ring with enough power to vaporise 1/8th of a planet the size of earth, scaled up though) Star Trek grade shielding, only with the regen rate that the Mjolnir suit possesses, the coolant system on board the pillar of awesome (err...autumn), and a selection of weapons using pocket dimension tech, which means I can have whatever weapon I need at basically any time. There is more but I need to go now.

@Kai86: haha, I loved your Halo analogies... the pillar of awesome had me cracking.

But seriously, Kai86 has a more realistic approach instead of everyone else saying, "I want this mecha, or that mecha, or that Gundam." You know what I want? Here:

ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom Gundam with the following upgrades:
1. An all encompassing energy shield similar to that of master chief plus the regeneration rate of .000001 seconds. (stole this idea from you, Kai86) This shield is able to withstand atmospheric reentry and all kinds of debilitating/unknown planetary conditions, such as the corrosive Venus. It can also withstand a star's heat up to a couple of hundred miles away.
2. The ability to teleport anywhere in the intergalactical system and on planets. Kind of like the movie "Jumper".
3. A gravitational field like generator similar to that of the abilities of the mecha in Infinite Ryvius - shoot gravity bombs, create a gravity barrier capable of withstanding the pull of a black hole, and use gravity to inflict crazy damage on enemy units by making it's punches and kicks in close-range melee combat that much more stronger and heavier.
4. The beam output of the Strike Freedom's weaponary has the power to collapse a star, a black hole, planets, and still have enough power left to wipe out an entire ring of asteroids and comets.
5. Of course, in order to power such crazyily powerful weaponary, the power drive of Strike Freedom is something that is so far advanced that I can't desribe it. (More like a nuclear neutrino fission drive or something along the lines of that.)
6. Strike Freedom can travel up to lightspeed in less than 10 seconds. Speed can vary.
7. The Strike Freedom can also escape any kind of radar/detection abilities as well as it's heat signature. Has the Mirage colloid to go invisible.
8. The gundaniam alloy armor of Strike Freedom is 100x more durable and harder than that described in the series, yet it maintains it's lightness as well.
9. Well, I also want the gundam to be much bigger than the size defined in the Gundam SEED series so that it can house another room for me and my girl. (I dubb it the love-room with beds and bathroom.)
10. Along with the room, the Gundam houses this interdimensional pocket capable of fitting anything inside it. (sorta like doraemon's pocket where he takes out an infinite amount of gadgets.) Of course, most of the stuff in there would be my own personal stuff, survival gear, and lots and lots and lots of food.
11. Strike Freedom moves on thought with less piloting controls as depicted in the Gundam SEED series.

That about sums up the type of mecha I wanna pilot. Ain't it badass?

Originally you are supposed to pick one 'standard' mech from any anime. As standard I mean that appeared in the named show, with customizations and weapons from the same.

Then that would make it the same thing as "what's your favorite mecha?" because if you like this mecha, you'd also want to pilot it, deshou?

While this most of the times is true, I like of the Gundams Deathscythe and Deathscythe hell from Gundam Wing TV, but I wouldn't pick them to pilot even thought they are cool. Sometimes you want something just for the looks and other because it is actually functional.
An example is Ferarris, sure they look good, are cool and are fast as hell, but they aren't the kind of car that you would drive in a daily basis, the fuel expenses would make it unpractiable unless you make 6 digits by month in your job.

My choice would be closer to the realm of reality. I choose from the Battletech (mechwarrior) universe

Either way, with their fuel sources and energy based weapons I could decimate standard military forces without running out of fuel or ammo. With the armor that these would use the ammo we have wouldn't even scratch the thing. The only problem would be a nuke and well, who would order having a nuke dropped inside their own country eh?

@sinner: And we aren't exactly talking about mechas that can function in our timeline are we?
