@sinner: And we aren't exactly talking about mechas that can function in our timeline are we?
No, any mecha will do as long is from an anime, game or manga. It can be a Gundam or a Mashin from Rayearth, even a Gumayleaf, whatever you want as long comes from a game, anime or manga. And tokusatsu too if you like.
I think that a really cool mecha is the union's flag fighter from gundam 00. I like it because of its' simplicity, it is powered by hydrogen and the fact that it can turn into a jet fighter
*Transformers, robots in disguise* ~ theme song stuck in head.
I'd also like to pilot the liger zero and all of its armor configurations featured in Zoids New Century Zero... and also the Berserker Fury. 3 particle charged cannons? Fuck that's crazy.
@sinner - your arguments are beginning to make less and less sense... you should realize that most people don't care about functionality other than, "I want to pilot it cuz it looks cool, or I can do incredible crap with this mecha."

Hmm, there are robots out there that look cool and are functional...VF-22 Sturmvogel II. Especially after I modify a few things.
The Space King Kittan, but if I have this mech I technically have to have two. Space King Kittan doesn't work without the other King Kittan ganmen. I want this mech because It owns hands down in TTGL.
The drill spear you see also functions as a laser cannon. The shidld is still a shield, but it still is off the roxor as coolness goes. I loved this mech from TTGL probably because I loved Kittan.
Ugh...too hard. Jehuty and Anubis are already taken, but that's fine. If I absolutely had to win at all costs, then give me Dis Astranagant.
Its armaments are impressive AND it can erase anything out of existence with its Ain Soph Aur. Of course, there is DiSRX from the end of the SRW:OG Divine Wars anime, but it still boils down to the awesomeness of Dis Astranagant.
Now, if I could screw around a little, I'd take the Raftclanz from SRW J.
It's a Real Robot with a weapon that puts even Super Robots to shame.
If I could only use a Gundam, then hand me the LM314V23-24 Victory 2 Assault Buster Gundam.
Whew...Hardcore..up in here..though I would have to say its probably a three way tie between The Guren-MkII, Death Scyth Hell Custom, and Epyon. Just to be sure now I've had time to think about it to be sure that I would surely pick Epyon.
Er...as far as I can tell, Heroic Age isn't really mecha, but it's close to it. If it wasn't for the fact that it's more organic that even the Evas, then it would be a bit more acceptable.
Honestly, if there wasn't such a problem like that, I would have picked Skeith 3rd Form from .hack//GU Vol. 3: Redemption. It's pretty much become a virtual version of Jehuty and Anubis smashed together, since the swords act like Jehuty's Homing Lasers and the energy scythe is like Anubis's spear.
I'd have to go with the Arctic Wolf from the Battletech/Mechwarrior universe. One of my favorite medium sized mechs, weighing in at 40 tons, armed to the teeth with multiple packs of SRMs (Short Range Missiles), it can easily tear apart mechs of any size. Arctic Wolf info page 1, and page 2. I loved hopping into this thing while playing league games for Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries. Filled with as many Streak SRM4s (a Clan version of SRMs that automatically lock on to and home in on a target) as I could fit in with good speed/armor/heat sinks I was able to rack up more points than the rest of my team, especially in matches with heavy fog and lots of hills. I do love the Highlander, Uller and Puma a lot though... among others. (I always did love the smaller mechs more than the larger, heavier ones, so fun to kill people with a mech that's 30-60 or more tons lighter than them.)
