Random bad happenings and/or difficult customers.
- A customer didn't want change so gave me extra change after I opened the till, completely throwing me off. I panicked, my mind went blank and she got really shitty with me about it. "It's primitive addition", she said. Well yeah it is, but you try performing under a sudden panic because you refuse to have change given to you in return and I get it in the neck if the till is out. Fucking cow. Thankfully my Supervisor was there to help me out. For the love of fuck people, don't do that.
- Another wanted change for parking and paid £18 with a £20 note and the rest on Card. First time giving change on Cash/Card payments and I got pretty anxious about it.
- Something that was in a 2 for £10 offer but came up as just £6 on the till. There was no 2 for £10 sticker on it so I didn't realise, so she had to come back, get a refund and have it put through again to get the offer put through correctly.
- One tried claiming that branding on bags was illegal. Now that I've done my research I told her in confidence that what she was saying was bullshit; no official source says this.
- Another went on a full-blown rant about bags, to the extent that she claimed to refuse buy anything in NEXT because she had to pay for a bag.
All in all, pretty grim day. Started it off so well, too.
