Well, my experience is a little varied (including a tad on the weird), but let me say I share a common ground. From many years back, I too have lost an interest in pornography, and am actually put off by it. There's simply something about a recorded act of sex that simply rubs me the wrong way. Meanwhile, hentai is an outlet, since the leway to imagination is unparalleled. Nothing can be too severe or extreme (of course, restrictions apply), since it's all just fictional drawings.
However, comparing it to real sex is wrong. In my opinion, there is no comparison. I've had a great time with the few lovers I've had, and all the while, hentai was still a strong point. It was just the other side of the coin.
