unless they can show solid proof it is just fantasy and not the reality.
the problem is in the way they present it.

I disatree,
they don't use evidence or lack of evidence. They deliberately ignore anything that can possibly go against what they say...
with the declining over all intelegence of the general public*, it's easy for the idiot masses to mistake suposition for fact. especially when they parade out a bunch of "experts" who spew their nonsense in such a way that it appears somewhat plausable.

I've completely given up on that channel. it's either bible shit, alien shit, or this combo of both. what ever happened to the regular old recorded history stuff? was it too boring? i'm sick of all this unsupported speculation crap. especially since some of them seem to try and present it as fact.
Try "History International" or H2 as it's known now. They have all the cool shows that actually talk about history - Ancient Discoveries, Engineering and Empire, ect.
O.T.
I think their may be moments in history that we still don't know about where mankind has actually taken steps backward in technology. The "Dark Ages" are an example of one that we do know but my point is I think we tend to not give ourselves enough credit with our capabilities when their seems to be no proof. The truth may be that proof of these technologies was simply forgotten to time or destroyed by an invading army. I do watch this show oddly enough as well but I'm not really a believer in it.
The military history channel is good too and it has limited commercials.
i do watch H2, and it's only slightly better in that it doesn't have those crap "reality" shows. can't watch the military channel because i don't have the one big cable box on the account. i just have one of the little crap limited boxes in my house.
[size=10]*seriously, i've talked to four year university graduates that were dumb as dirt. i remember a little between show filler bit that asked MIT graduates(still in cap and gown) if they could light a bulb with just a battery and a length of wire. they kept saying it couldn't be done. the entire american education system is in the toilet. but i supose if it wasn't like that, the republicans probably would never get elected.[/h]
