Is Peace only an illusion?

Currently the peace is illusion. Everything is fine Bla Bla Bla. But once you look around, you see how fucked up is world around you. Terrorists, wars, revolutions.

In order to get the lasting peace we need to have

• One understanding

• One Language

• One culture

• One Religion

If we have those 4 steps, we can avoid a lot of problems. Most conflicts start with misunderstanding, so if we remvoe the misunderstanding we should have lasting peace.

BUT then again...
I might be wrong.

The problem is that normal citizens do not wish for such thinking that foreign countries are to be rivals, it is the government itself that is maintaining that cycle of war that pushes countries to not trust each other.

Soldiers do not want to fight a senseless war, but they cannot stop their duties due to the fear of their home being attacked, leaving them no choice but to serve the country, even though the soldiers themselves know the truth better than us.

It is a vicious ( But not infinite ) cycle, this cycle of war could be stopped at anytime if there was a person who already planned a new system to bring forth peace and trust, which I highly doubt considering that the current system leaves the people thinking it so complicated, and giving up on a new system idea.

It is not all about war you know, just to remind you of that. Peace has many things, not just ending violence.

As the wise and powerful Kung Fu Panda would say, "We must achieve Inner Peace."

There are only two scenarios that I think world peace could achieve,

A) Unity
The almost impossible thing to exist even the United Nation and some other organisation like the Commonwealth had a hard time to maintain the idea of peace or world stability. To make everyone agree is almost impossible since everyone is different, not to mention a different race, culture, belief,etc.

Sure, a world under one leader might unite everyone since there would be no challenge to the leadership but like I said everyone is different especially those who belief in nationalism and look what happen to Emperor. I have to say using council and voting system is the best way to have a sense of equality.


B) Isolation
No one would bother other nation affair if they isolated themselves. This way there won't be any international conflict until the situation get out of control that the conflict slowly spread through the border. Try to imagine if the American didn't join WW2, the war in Europe would spread that it would one day spread to America (if the Japanese hadn't).

A big no. Why? If the idea of complete isolation from one another then they would be no sharing. There would be no sharing the internet and each nation had to create their own internet system (pray there won't be an accidental breach). It be a return to the dark age where technology won't be share or introduced to the other nation. Worst to come is famine in other nation since some needed foreign aid until they could properly live without help.

Why another big no? Let just say if every nation isolated themselves and not sharing any market product, imagine RE 6 come the next month and isolation started, boo hoo the shipment delivery got cancel. Another example, Fakku won't get new manga and I'll be sad.

As long as you're alive conflict is always around you, true peace is only brought through death. However, I will say that just by having this conversation I am at a pretty high level of peace in comparison to some other part of the world.

Unity is definitely the most difficult challenge mankind has got to master in these difficult times.

There has been countless wars and suffering since the birth of religion and yet we have not grasped the dreams each of these individual have strive for in their time on earth for world peace.

For some people might think their lives are doing good and drinking beer with a few buddies, but lets not forget that peace truly doesn't exist as long as there is even one person suffering.

People have been trying so hard to remove that conscious of guilt within them only to feel that happiness and peace and not think about the world, that is why there are also many excuses made for the human mind to feel better and naturally ignore the suffering that has been spreading around the globe, and the media is doing a good job concealing that as well, also people who wish nothing more than taking that sense of helping others out.

War was to never exist, as a matter of fact war shouldn't have never happened since killing is considered forbidden ( Also read the ten commandments, Bible and Quran and other religions).

So how does the idea of killing come into the minds of people?
That is easy to answer, their sense of greed.

Greed comes with many faces but one purpose, to not share or let anyone have that what you desire, at any cost.

The first greed ever reported was Adam and Eve's kids.
They had 2 sons and one daughter, and to make sure to ensure the survival of humanity, one son must make children with the daughter ( Incest at first ). So the older son had desired to make children with his sister, but the little brother desired that as well, so the little brother sacrificed something and prayed to God to wish for the love of his sister, and the older brother had grew greed and hated his brother, so the older brother murdered the younger brother and took his sister as his wife.

The first murder on earth, The two siblings made children and so the instinct grew on these children and then the cycle of greed, hate, jealousy and so on began in the world.

The little brother was to actually marry his sister and make children because he pleaded to God and was giving honor and praise for it, and the older brother grew hatred because of this.



You see, that is why world peace is very difficult to obtain, because for peace to exist we must sacrifice these traits such as greed, jealousy and hate, and people don't sacrifice these things easily since it gives them this feeling of superiority. If the older brother just had understood what was important and it was for the best, then probably these horrific traits wouldn't have existed.


Please take the time to understand this story since it describes the story from the Quran, and also the lesson of human behavior.

This topic is asinine as hell. Of course peace is an illusion. If you're looking for further explanation on why you haven't been conscious of how life truly is.

My theory.

Peace doesnt exist: watch to bateria in your body the fight with white blood cells.
So if there isnt peace, peace cant exist.

We humans have evolved so greatly that we need not such primitive trait such as competition like the animals and bacteria does to fight for their territory.

Now back to the main topic.
Peace is NOT an illusion, why are some Fakku-ers doubting that? I am sure that the poorest people who have nothing, have greater hope in peace and believe in it also, more than everybody else in the world does.

Many people believe that peace can NEVER be obtained, if that is the case then answer my question:
Why are people fighting for it?
Why do they fight for an ideal that seems like an illusion?
Why are they desperately fighting for a change in the world?

And I won't take a dumb answer for an answer, but please explain it to me in a correct manner why they fight for it.

"Peace" as a word doesn't really mean anything. Its a word that gets thrown around to inspire people to act, to stir emotion. Freedom and Democracy are similar words.

Humans have evolved past conflict? HAHAHHAHAHA.

Who gets the nicest houses and highest standard of living? The rich. The ones who have accumulated the most resources. There are only so many trees in the world, not everyone can have opulent mansions- there are not enough trees, as such there is only so much money. We are competing for the worlds limited resources.

If somehow, we had a machine like the fabricator in star trek, that can make something out of nothing, we could know peace.

Until then, we all try to get the highest standard of living for ourselves and those we care about. Which means that someone else, somewhere can not

I don't really think there is a right answer to this question. When you think about it, science by itself contradicts any idea of peace when you consider things such as the laws of thermodynamics. But at the same time, science, or even logic, has proven that it does not always hold true when applied to humanity. Many theories about what constitutes a perfect society has been applied and resulted in ultimate failure. Just a simple glance at history and political sciences will show that the human being has repeatedly shown itself to be ultimately except from what are believed to be established scientific, or even philosophical facts when we apply them to ourselves. People used to think that blacks were inferior, turned out that was bullshit. People used to think that materialism would ultimately lead to prosperity for the whole, also bullshit. The Russians thought their application of Marxism would make the world a better place, I'm sure you know where that went. Those were only a few of the many examples our world has provided to show how unpredictable we can be. In the end, although we like to think we know a lot about ourselves, the truth is that we really don't know jack shit about us or about society. So if I were to answer the question "Is peace only an illusion?", I would have to say this. If facts about society have turned to illusion, then is it not impossible for illusion to become fact?

When you talk about the rich and the poor, what issue stands between them.

The rich are greedy and the poor get nothing.

It is sad to say, but the fear of war is the only sure way to ensure peace. During the Cold War, it was the fear of the consequences of nuclear war that kept nations from destroying each other. Humanity seems happy to wage war, as long as they believe their families are safe, at home. It's only when the war reaches our own homelands, that we begin to think of peace - usually too late! As long as people are ruled by their differences and unwilling to look at things from another person's perspective, we will always have conflict and war.

A world with peace...
That world would be very primitive, because most of the things that are here today are the end results of some sort of conflict.

Peace is indeed illusion as long as human itself try to differenciate one and another. Race, Skin colour, Age, Gender, Countries, Religion, Self interest and freedom is the main reason why peace is a just a dream.

The moment human can throw away all of these factor will allowed humantity to find true peace. however for human to throw all of those thing away, does that even make us human?
