The world is becoming overpopulated. How would you fix it?

Please keep in mind that this thread is NOT about the population itself. Its about our resources versus our population. My definition of "overpopulation," the one that is used here, is when the population reaches a point to where resources available cannot sustain it. We talk about new sources of energy that are cleaner, improving production of resources and goods, stopping global warming, and many other innovations, political solutions, and economic methodology that will solve the problems of the world, but everyone ignores the root cause; humanity's population versus resource consumption/productivity. There are too many people for the available resources. Let me explain. When people are poor and lack proper resources they reproduce more than higher classes in order to have more family members to work and also because of a lack of proper sex education. Because there are more people, resources are stretched thinner. This in turn produces MORE people of low intelligence who reproduce a lot due to low education. Before you know it, you have exponential growth (like in China and India). This is also called "the marching morons." While this is going on the rich reproduce less and less because of high education and also spend their money less due to modern economic methodology. The money supply in circulation shrinks. Thus, wealth is isolated and the middle class diminishes, the rich population shrinks but grows in power, and the poor population increases. These people demand and consume resources. At the current rate of things, there are too many people for the resources available to be evenly balanced for a large middle class. Resource production cannot match our current population, let alone population growth. As resources are spreading thinner and thinner, less people get proper education and reproduce more. The system repeats itself. This will get worse as time passes until humanity reaches critical mass, in which case the population will drastically reduce, along with society, culture, and technology. In the past, humanity's population was self regulating. As populations and countries grew, they would expand. Resources would be utilized and discovered. Famines, wars, and plague reduced and regulated the world population. Nowadays, most of us are at peace, disease is controlled, and food production is enormous. The escape valves for human population have closed. Its time to lay down the hammer. The ratio of our current population vs. the resources available is the source of global warming and poverty. Its indirectly related to many different economic and political issues. So, I ask, how would YOU go about solving the problem within 200 years, ethically or unethically?

Take a percent of the people and say that they can only have one kid. So if you use 10% of the population the population will decrese by 5%

hard question i think there is enough space on the earth the problem is how can you give everyone food and a fair live (even right now its really difficult -.-)
also i think nature itself gonna fix it. You see it already many people die from natural disasters. ofcourse this is very easy depressive anwser but i think this is how it gonna be.

Who says the world is becoming overpopulated? We're only expecting another 4 billion people before the population levels off and all of those are in china and africa anyway, Africa particularly with it's mass underdevelopment (compared to all the other continents in the world) but it will catch up. This wouldn't really put a strain on any resources other than fossil fuels but by the time we reach the 11 billion level off point I'm pretty certain there will be viable renewable or nuclear alternatives.

This thread is totally misinformed and the some of the posts I've seen some users make are quite frankly worrying.
