What is your impression on people who love hentai?

I feel like I can relate to anyone who looks at hentai. When I go to conventions or just talk to new otakus, I feel like hentai is that amazing inside joke that everyone at the convention is let in on.

Hentai is something that brings people together.

That being said, I believe it is different than standard pornography. Pornography is generally looked down upon...even in the pornographers' world. The only respected names in porno are really Playboy and Hustler and maybe a few more.

Hentai artists are respected...because they are artists.

Maybe they are respected simply because their art can be fapped to, or maybe they are Daisuke Sato.

My friend decided to shame me in class because of this. He asked me what I like doing, I say I love manga and anime and then he says weird. of course knowing that I don't an ass's shit about what he thinks he goes on to say that I fap to "ecchi" stuff. I stop look at him and deny what he said and as usual I win and he goes quite. His still a friend just one of those that I knew and am afraid that will be all.

To be honest, I've joined this site on someone recommendation at very first. I've always enjoyed anime (since is one of the only thing on TV from my time and where I'm from, cartoon wasn't very popular back than- No, I'm not THAT old lol). And I don't really read any hentai (I just really enjoy talking to some people here while doing homework or something).

Now, that is said, and I tried to see in "their" point of view. And from what I see, some people just enjoy putting others down, to make themselves feel better or "get over some embarrassment" by finding the next worst thing (in their personal opinion, of course). The fact is, the current society isn't as open to the point that the topic of "sex" can easily be spoken to ANYbody. In real life I mean, since over the internet, having the whole network as a barrier for protection is very much different (as we all know).

The people that are easy to put down for them, is the more quiet ones, the ones who stands out less in the society "in general", or even those that share a smaller cultural ideas. Those that they think they won't really hit back.

In short, in my opinion, I far to think hentai or porn disgust me. In fact, is the opposite, because I think it makes me shy more than anything >//>. Even though I am very much unfamiliar with those compare to a lot of people, I do sometimes thinks hentai is much more comfortable to watch/read. Maybe I know is not real and the self shyness isn't that strong, or the ideas are much more colorful? I don't know lol [/color]

Honestly, it's another medium that I use to relieve stress because hentai allows use to explore areas of sexuality that we generally could not experience with regular porn.

People who love hentai are still people and like any other person we all have preferences. I'm sure there are people who enjoy 2 girls 1 cup, so that's preference doesn't necessarily mean they're bad.

We usually find hypocrisy from the people who judge the most. These are the same type of people who believe hentai is detrimental to society and will quickly label it as abnormal smut.

I have found that people who like hentai are more creative, not perverted. I see hentai as a form of art... Very Very fine art... but drawings = art = creative thinking. People don't like what they can't understand, and people without that type of creativity point fingers at people saying we're weird because they don't understand. We just have to except some things:

1. We are not perverts, but have a creative mind that we use through creative art and or viewing
2. No matter what you tell people, most are not wired the way we are and we will always be a selective group of people
3. It's in the genetics (apparently). It's the same as a person not liking Futa hentai as it is a person not liking hentai in genral. Its just the way you were born (to not like certain things)
4. Reality, if you take it down to the Bible, and say lusting at a women is a sin, hence porn is a sin. Then what the hell is Hentai? How dare we lust after paper? Technicaly if one only looks at hentai, how is a person who lusts after a fictional character more perverted than another person watching two real people have adulterated sex? I am in no way bashing anyone or preaching, I look at both lol. But when people call us perverts it's because some people like to think there are people worse than them. When in fact the casual Fakku go'er is just exploring his or her creativity in a healthy way.

I don't really take it into account unless I'm talking to that person and every other word is "fap". Once it's there, the conversation gets pretty stale and often can't be salvaged. I've talked to guys like that before, and they're always hyperexcited when they hear that I like hentai, myself. It's always, "oh ur sooo naughty lol :3" even if I'm mentioning something as inane as the piece of toast I had for breakfast ("did u fap afterward lol"). Aha, ha, ha.

However, hentai is a different story. Hentai is just as much an art as is cooking. As cheesy as this sounds, we can compare fetish to taste. And intercourse to sliced bread.

When I was still in college, some people caught me roleplaying. There was a anime picture on one of the posts. The first thing they asked me was "Are you into cartoon porn or something?". I was thrown off guard so I just stayed silent. A few days later those same guys came to me while I was eating lunch. They kept asking me personal questions as if we knew each other for years. It was annoying, but I eventually admitted that I liked hentai. Those conversations left a bad taste in my mouth, but it wasn't a deep cut. I got over the feeling of humiliation and went back to my beloved rping (and hentai of course).

Whenever people try to bring me down in regard to my interests, I just look at the bright side (I also believe in karma). For people like me who enjoy hentai, there's nothing to be ashamed about. The artwork is sexually arousing, nobody gets hurt and its not illegal.

Anyone man enough to admit out loud that they like any form of porn deserves respect.

I don't see how liking hentai is a bad thing. You have to appreciate the work the artist puts into the story and the art.

I find them to be very open within their own social groups, intellectual/ intelligent, neurotic, unique, and interesting. Hentai requires a different perspective on pornographic material, an artistic and abstract approach, which is difficult for many people to relate to or derive pleasure from as a result. And as usual, we humans criticize and fear that of which we do not know, thus unfortunately earning hentai-lovers an unattractive stigma- even for perverts.

People mock others who like hentai because they think they are better than you, and think anything outside their own bubble is low class.

It's paratically the same reactions to fetishes and paraphilia, alot of conservative people believe people who have these sexual interests, let alone discuss any sexual topic at all, are filthy minded perverts that are scum to the world. I find that there is nothing wrong with it, if someone wants to watch regular porn, thats fine. If someone wants to watch animated porn, thats fine too. Alot of people affiliate hentai with rape, which is understandable because alot of hentai is about molestation and rape. Regardless, there is a difference between a rapist, and a hentai veiwer, some people just fail to realize that more than others.

For anyone that sees the idea of Hentai in general as disgusting probably just doesn't understand its appeal. Hentai is "different" so being "different" people feel they need ridicule it. Of course they could just be a religious nut case that thinks porn is the work of the devil. Anyways, I said the idea of hentai in general, for a reason. Because as a hentai fan I can honestly say that some hentai is disgusting. Loli's for instance float too close to the realm of child porn for me. I'm sure that 99.9% of the population finds pedophiles and child molesters to be disgusting. Now I'm not saying that Loli is CP. But the fact that it needs a whole other topic to argue whether or not it is means its way too close for me. As for my own impression of people that like hentai. I won't dislike or ridicule a person for just that. However my opinion of someone would drop if I found out that they like things like loli. This is all just my opinion. Some people might find my own tastes to be disgusting. I know I have developed a fetish for forced sex which usually means rape. People could say that that's more disgusting than Loli. Maybe it is.
