What I think of Americans? Yeah, we are lazy but still have good people running around here and there. Seems like the people who disgrace our country stand out more and that is all the foreigners see...

it's not like i despise all americans overall, it's a merely a fact of the little actual understanding that i have on them, and the mass influence that caused me to based my opinions from others' "typical" views, and rather ignorant and stupid, to be honest, i don't like referencing or categorizing people in any ways other than they're just like me, just human,

americans are americans, how u look at them is "typically" ur own judgment, ur concept of the "american" evaluation(none of us can really generalize what the americans are like, cause they're all different individuals, they differentiate from every possible angles of living or thoughts, it's not like any of us intended to prejudice them either, it's nothing but a "typical" idea, and that's that)

I can't generalize because that would be pretty stupid. Yes there are some idiots here, there are fat people here, there are lazy people here just like your country has some idiots/fat/lazy people. No country is perfect, each has it's own flaws - only problem is America is the one that is bashed of their flaws most of the time. For example, how people bash us on not knowing our government and/or other countries, well I'll admit it's not my strong point BUT there are people who do know about those things - Just like in your country some people know and others don't.

I know Americans aren't exactly perfect.

k_0uta is of course right. Objectively the whole "opinion on INSERT ORIGIN HERE" is totally crap.
But if would let my emotions just go and don't care about getting worked up with some topics:
Americans are mostly ignorant, decadent, arrogant(esp. about their nation) people who don't question the inequalities in the world and their high and mighty position.

Of course this sounds really hard.
But I got some shocking examples that gave me this opinion(which I honestly don't like).
A friend of mine had an american family as guests. And some time the topic was Guantanamo Bay. And when the father of my friend told the family what he knew about it, the americans (esp the father) got totally angry and said, that these are all lies and that there are only about 20 people in Guantanamo Bay and that it is proven that these few people were terrorists.
And I just felt like "What the fuck is going on. How can people, who have the might and RESPONSIBILITY of voting the mightiest man in the world not know about this or perhaps even worse: don't care about this." (But how could they, if it isn't topic on TV)
The next two examples for the ignorance are well-known I guess.
First: I find it shocking and scary that it was publicly accepted that in the world-trade-center-report the explanation for the financial background of the attempt was marked as "unimportant" and connected to the whole 9/11-case some other unexplained things. But to me it appears that TV and other media just focused on the harsh tragedy so that people are too shocked and sometime even bored of this to follow reports about the intelligence(hope it's the right word) of this case.

Second: The whole election-fraud thing with Al Gore and George Bush. There is clear evidence that there was such a thing, but it's nearly ignored. Some people who spoke to the congress and had evidence of this were ignored because the majority of the congress wouldn't accept their aehm, proposition.

And of course: The decadence of big cars(which nearly always aren't needed) (But this is also a case in self-declared eco-country Germany albeit not as much as in the USA) and so on.

Overall I guess that the conservative Media like TV, Radio (and often also Newspapers) are guilty for this. I have hope in the Internet.

And of course on the other hand I am totally astonished by the musical creativity of the USA. Most of the bands I hear are from the USA. And I really try to get my hands on music from all over the world. But especially in Jazz, Hardcore, Post-Rock and Progressive the ingenious influences in the last decades came from the USA(except for some great UK-Artists and some other exceptions).
And of course I hope that the internet(where also a lot of innovative site-ideas came from the USA) is a hope for having any important information get around the whole world, so that ignorant people don't even have a chance to close their eyes for what is hopefully the truth. :)

I hope this was positively enough to weigh my hard first part of the post. :P
