what is your typical view on AMERICANS?

Well, I don't know if you only care about yourself or not, but I consider everyone along side me a "typical" American, and most everyone I know are good people. Saying things about these typical Americans which are also my friends and family. I mean, it's as if there is no disgretion and no good points about America. It seems only the flaws are seen, I know a few people have said a couple nice things, but it is quite daunting on how many of these bad things are piling on top of these very minute good things.

In other threads of What do you think of (insert country here), we see people say that and many will defend the position even from other countries, but it seems Americans don't have any such allies to do so for them...

good thoughts about us Americans however i would like to day that the US i full of prudes. meaning that anything having to do with sex is like a bad thing of hell.. yes there are more and more area's getting over this however for most of the county its still look a penis awwww stop it stop it NOW.. or what not...

They are weird, often rude and there are quite a few problems with their political and education systems. Not to mention that their taste for food isn't much to my liking.
So much for generalization.

This thread (and others like it) should be about naming the stereotypes so that people can come and say what the truth is. So, if someone comes along and says, "I think all Americans are fat," people could reply, "A lot of them are fat, but that's due to . . . "

Otherwise, it turns into a sort of trollfest.

Honestly, as an American, my view on Americans is . . . that we're crazy as all hell. Not every individual, just as a whole. To use a bit of a comedian's routine (don't remember the guy's name though), it's like if a man walks down the street in drag, wearing a tight blue dress and a fur coat. Some people will yell, "Pervert!" while others will yell, "Fur is murder!" That's America.

I consider one thing very important to note: The USA is the leading superpower of the world, Russia and China are getting ever closer but when it comes to political, economical and military influence they're still the Number 1.

That invariably leads to envy and mistrust, it's the lot of the powerful.

And this makes people from other countries (allies and enemies alike) think that bit worse about US-citizens, too.

They invande countries just to get to their oil and they shoot up their own schools...


Nah but seriously, i have had no real problem with the americans i've actually meet, they're nice and all that.

Americans give their kids guns i had access to 2 shotguns a rifle and 2 pistols as a kid.

I hadn't thought of that before.

I imagine it is irritating to live in a great country that you love and hear that it's not as good as the US of A.



A lot of Americans have a problem with that, too. The whole gun control argument. Gives me a headache just thinking about it.

Is it true that in some states you can just go in and buy a gun of the street.

I'm American, and I think a big problem is that a lot of our intelligent kids get ruined by crappy public schools and a lack of any real role models.

Our president is unfortunately inept to lead. He's not a stupid guy, but he's not a genius either. He's simply not a good leader, he's too stuck on his own country to handle foreign policy well and he has no idea what the hell's going on as far as the economy goes. (Obama/Biden '08!)

We have a lot of fat people, but I don't think it's as bad as the media makes it out to be. Aside from the freakish 1,000lb+ (~500kg) people of course, but you've got bigger problems than being American if you completely lose control of yourself like that.

One thing I'm disappointed in is the lack of pressure to learn foreign languages. Most public schools only offer things like french, spanish, german, maybe russian. Rarely do you find Chinese (and considering China is the biggest nation on earth and is an up and coming world power, that's going to prove DISASTROUS) and in my case, only 3 years were mandatory, 7th-9th grade.

I love America, just earlier today I mentioned to my co-worker that he must be upset that his mother's dick is bigger than his, and he retorted by saying his was good enough to make my mother moan like a wildabeast. This occurred in front of 2 female co-workers and a manager we didn't realize was there, and they all just laughed. Free mother-fucking speech.

Also on Americas good side, we have some FINE hot-ass women from every nation on earth all in one place. ;) Beat that. Oh wait, you can't. We have one of the most technologically advanced military forces on the planet, we can blow up your ass up halfway across the ocean with un-manned drones.

Also on our side, lawyers. If you wanna sue us for something... go right ahead.

In my school, (Canada.) it was mandatory from grades 4 to 9. (French obviously.)
