i am not against death penalty... i think death penalty itself is a torture...
imagine: knowing when u gonna die & waiting for the day to come in a rotten prison... the pressure can me u crazy... though in the end, the death itself might release u from the pressure, but hey, that's ur last second living.
life imprisonment is somewhat the same thing, u r caged forever... even so, u stil get the chance to live...
but facing death to escape a caged life, or being caged for life so that u dont die, i dunno which is worse... o.o"
some may think tortures r better, but i think torturing is quite pointless, some of the murderers might not be scared or what... the torture is just something temporary, unlike life and death, and torture might go against human rights, so myb that's why there's no much torture nowadays... tho i m not so sure whether repeat murderers even deserve their "human" rights???
even so, using tortures just mean we r using violence to solve their violent behaviours. they should be taught not to be led by their anger & murder ppl.
myb they bcome that way bcause of certain circumstances.
esp. if they are mentally-ill then their punishments should be revised.
(though most likely they murder bcause they hv mental problem.)
so, i support death penalty/life imprisonment (whichever the law deem as worse for the offender) for those who hav murdered more than once and the murders are intentional.
i find this pointless
World Most Luxuriest Jail no matter what it is for
prison/jail is supposed to be, well, dark and gloomy...? to remind those offenders that they hav stooped down so low, and they need to get back up!
and i think that giving them so-called entertainment like books will help them...
i think for the ones who jz murdered for the 1st time, they still deserve a chance; myb give them counselling/rehab (jz dont put the counsellor in the same room, and make sure there r guards)
and as of making them work, they might be a bit too dangerous to be put with the others so soon, myb aftr they r in good behaviour... then aftr that they'll be able to generate income...
and make them set goals like if they r good they will get certain privileges like better food, myb that'll help...?
just my personal views tho...
as long as they r willing to change, they deserve a chance
but if they r rotten to the core, let them rot in their grave
and about the economic impact imprisonment hav, well, its not that big, right?
corruption is more of a problem.
