Actually, I have another problem. Voice plays fine, system sounds play fine but sound effects do not seem to work. Instead there's just dialogue on what sound I should be hearing and that's it. Checked the config and sound effects are checked off. Anyone have an idea what it could be?
Q: Will my savedata from the older game work with this one? A: Not really. It will save 74% of the images and about the same amount of songs and it'll show the girl sleeping and after story will be available but in order to get the lost music and images back your going to have to replay the entire game anyways.
This game is the latest version of the original Clannad game. The other 2 versions are older and don't offer the features of this one (see first paragraph on main page).
However, I do have a question in regards to the translated files.
I installed the game using the installer found in the torrent, so I haven't touched them at all.
I've been getting a few odd messages that don't match the spoken messages while playing through a few routes through the game. The dialogue in question seems to be of a more generic kind that's all lumped into one script, and apparently it wasn't coded correctly.
Small examples include Tomoya's name be placed in lieu of certain phrases that are clearly just gasps, intakes of breath, etc. in the spoken audio. But my main issue is when Nagisa refers to Tomoya by given name (at least during Fuuko's route), and the game's script replaces every reference to it with something along the lines of "No valid strings found, file a ticket."
So is there an updated English patch that I missed that addresses this particular issue, or is it something going on due to my end that I'm going to have to put up with?
I have no idea. I haven't had a problem. You can try the latest SEEN file and see if that helps. It might mess up your save files though. The file just overwrites the other one in the install directory. Get it here. You can try updating the other files as well.
I have a small issue with the image that comes up when playing the game. From the title screen onwards, the image does not take up the full screen. Insteadd, the image has shrunk into the top left hand corner. The words appear near the bottom of the screen, halfway between the image and the section of blackness left by the shrunken image.
Does anyone have a solution to this problem? thanks
By the looks of it, Baka-tsuki is working on it(?). Seems like only three people are on it though. The admin for the project is dead, so things will probably go extremely slowly.
Sounds good, I'll get working on 714-717 then. Also, would it be possible for someone to go in and note in the SEEN files where different choices in the game branch off and rejoin? (i.e. choice at line 345, A goes to 347, B goes to 373, C goes to 401, and they all lead into 435) A full map of every choice and result would be even better. Since I've been trying to follow along in the game as I translate, something like this would make it a lot easier to make sure everything fits within context. PanzerElement September 13, 2010
You can leave 716 to me, as I was previously working on it. If I delay it too much, you can take over the SEEN. - HiagoX September 14, 2010

alfway done with 714, and a certain degree of inroad on 715 and 717. I've left 716 alone like you asked. I'll upload it all after I'm done, probably going to have 714 done in a few days. Sorry for the slow pace, been fairly busy with school. PanzerElement September 19, 2010

This might be a really stupid question, but I need to uninstall the VN. However I can't find a uninstall file in the C:\Key path. I also can't see anything related to Clannad through control panel. I was thinking there would be an option through the iso to uninstall, but I believe I clicked all the buttons none resulting in a uninstall of the VN. Is there something I missed? Or do I have to manually uninstall this.
Thanks for the upload Nachbar. Although this vn doesn't have hentai but it sure is fun to play it over and over. I wish, I can meet character like sunohara in real life that guy totally born to be a clown. Always amusing!
