No. Nero isn't even this emo, faggy or ugly like the new Dante.
He doesn't actually look emo, more like punk-goth. You're either just inappropriately using the term "faggot" just like some people use "idiot" to describe someone or something with whom/what they disagree. Faggot = gay, idiot = someone of low intelligence. Dante,
fortunately, does
not look or act like a faggot.
I'm against supporting Capcom, or anything else for that matter, without question. I'm also against disagreeing with something until proven that said thing is really disagreeable. That said, I, as well, raged when the 1st trailer came out, mostly because of the looks and the fact that I was under the impression that they, unsuccessfully, changed the whole formula.
Here's why my rage ceased, and why yours should stop, as well:
- The formula hasn't really changed much, judging from the gameplay trailer
- While I agree that changing his appearance just to appease to another audience is cheap,(especially that they made him look like the main developer) at least they made the effort of explaining and implementing it into the story, rather than just going like:" here's your new Dante. Why? Who cares?"
- You do have the possibility to play as regular Dante (in rage mode), and they might also add that as a costume.
- Dante looks like a angry teenager because he actually is at that age in the game, and he also has trouble accepting his demonic side. I'd wager that, by the end of the game, he'll become the Dante from DMC3.
- The darker toned theme is likely to work just fine, provided that they do it right. I liked DMC2, and I think the game had the potential to be significantly better, had they executed the formula more efficiently.
- Dante is rebelling against a society that is controlling and manipulative, which is always a good theme in my opinion. (provided that the reasoning behind the rebellion is of the worthy sort)
So stop bashing the game, before it's release, without having any pertinent argument to bring forth. Your personal taste, alone, is
not an objective and pertinent argument. You can say that you just don't like it, if your subjective preference is the only thing that drives you to hate the change so much.
