Nice thread, thanks for the upload.

I've been wondering, do you have to play Extra and Unlimited in order to understand Alternative or are they different enough to be played separately without missing anything?

I'm guessing that Amaterasu is translating Extra and Unlimited before Alternative for a reason, but since the characters are the same it would be bad if you are so familiar with them that in subsequent games after the first there's a feeling of "been there done that" to all the routes. Or maybe they were made while having that in mind?

Each game has a significant different of setting, but even tho, yes, it is highly recommended that you play Extra before Unlimited, and mandatory for you to play Unlimited before Alternative.

They relate to each other and is important that you follow the order. Like episode 1, episode 2 and episode 3.

The main reason for Amaterasu to translate Muv Luv Extra and Unlimited is just because of Alternative and solely because of that. As they cant translate episode 3 without first doing 2 and 1.

Is this the correct version for the english patch?

When I run the english installer it said wrong version....

The only muv-luv I have aside from yours which I just downloaded is the CD version, both said wrong version.... what to do?

Did you try mount and install the japanese game first.

Then after you installed extra, then use the english patch to the directory.

I'm not sure about "this" you mentioned earlier are Muv-Luv Extar/Unlimited or the other one. But this one are the proper games for you. :)

BTW, are you sure you downloaded the Muv-Luv DVD version? Cause the one on this thread are DVD version, and worked with the patch too. :wink:

I used the english installer to install the game directly :)

with this one I got 2 DVD version of Muv-Luv

weird, both are DVDs but the file order are different, the size too.... what gives... I think the other is the all age version... perhaps

Yes there is 2 DVD Iso in there, one is Extra one is Unlimited.

You have to Install Extra first by, then put the english patch, finish Meiya and Sumika's route, then only the game allows you to install unlimited by telling you to mount the Unlimited DVD.

Theres a no dvd crack too, put it in directory and initiate it after install.

The other one I have is only a single ISO with 3 GB in size

I saw the other thread and it seems Vista & 7 users got some problem as well, maybe this only works on XP?

It should work, mine is Windows 7 and there is not a single problem.

actually for me to solve my not working problem(I also have vista). i switched my download directory to the "program files" folder on my C drive. For some reason it didn't install properly on my D drive.

Damn.... It was all UltraISO's fault

I use Daemon now and it's installed perfectly fine, english patch also works.....

ok i just finished the game on one route but the extra option on the main menu is greyed out how do i unlock it?

need meiya & sumika completed right?

thats to unlock unlimited, completing both doesnt unlock the extra menu, not sure what does...

Oh now i get what you guys asking lol.

You need to complete Unlimited to unlock the "Extra" selection. In other words, go through the whole game once.

Since this Muv Luv game, consist of Extra AND Unlimited, it's more like a two episode story and only one episode(Extra) is translated.

The Extra selection at the start of the menu, which consist of CGs and stuff you've seen, those normal kinda stuff, nothing really much lol

An english walkthrough in the form of a text file is included with the patch.
