Im liking this game so far, Ive been playing multiplayer and survival with a friend, havent touched single player yet, but I have to say survival is a blast.
I just finished single player today and what can I say... same story, different place; Most of the scenes aren't even that epic anymore with all of it's cliches.
I haven't played survival yet but multiplayer, well... even though only minor changes have been made, it is still fun as hell to play, Loving the new pointstreak system.
For those of you that have played MW2 and have bought MW3, how is it? I really don't feel like wasting $65 on another MW game that has one man army, noob-toobing commando/tactical knife players.
man fuck the elite shit....fuckin crap tells me log in failed and my password is wrong even though i fuckin had the password emailed to me i dont care to deal with this shit tonight fuck this shit I'm going to sleep >:(

Give it 2 weeks to see if it has any glitches or what not then buy it afterwards if it's good. Don't trust current game reviews and let the actual players due the experimenting. I for one am trying it out on my roommates xbox. So far I have found the campaign to be boring, and the mp to be lifeless.

This is a very useful video for those wondering about the online experience.
I have not played multiplayer yet, but the campaign was dull. However, looking at the video, I am liking the new MW3.
I'm not a big fan of any CoD game, but my aunt surprised me with it as an early birthday gift, so i have no choice ~
I just generally use the riot shield for some fun, walking around surviving abit longer than anyone and getting a generious amount of exp for doing little to nothing. My 1st game with it i ranked up 4 times, hue.
I'm going to name 2 things that bug the living hell out of me when playing mw3. These two things are also what makes cod4 better than mw3. Maps and character models.
I already said the maps look grey but seriously the maps are so simple and CQC oriented. There's not much good mixture of sniping areas. CoD4 had brilliant map design that combined sniping with good pathways that people can take to flank defenders. Broadcast, Crossfire, Crash, these are a few of some really good maps that you could snipe and run and gun. In general, majority of the CoD4 maps had good snipe and run n gun mixture. This doesn't mean you can't snipe, I'm just saying that the maps are poorly made to include snipers. There's a lack of good vantage points.
The characters models are also bothersome as the soldiers all look too similar for the most part, there's nothing that really makes them stand apart most of the time. The only obvious character versus that you can tell is against the africans. This one you can say is nitpicking but I say this is an important aspect to a game. There needs to be distinct features for 2 teams so you can actually tell them apart from eachother. CoD4 straight up had two forces who you can immediately tell which weapon class he used and what team he belonged to. I'll use another game for example, TF2. Sure the game used 2 separate colors like red and blue, but it also offered distinct character designs for each class. The models allowed you to immediately recognize what character he was playing due to their slim figure or bulky body. Cod4 doesn't do a drastic look like TF2 but it did implement a fairly good model design mixed with colors that allowed for easy recognition. The only real bad models were the dark rain maps.
You can call these 2 nitpicking but I find them to be important aspects to a game that makes a difference visually and gameplay wise. I hope I'm not the only one that has felt this way about the game so far.
Also Kick + rapidfire, setup for every smg or ar. Seriously, what's even the point? Perks on players and now even more perks on guns. I've barely had any problems winning firefights with this combo on my ar's or smg's.
well multi for me is gonna take gettin used to since I have the BF3 controls drilled into my head survival is my fav atm got to lvl 15 very quickly the delta team support is pretty interesting but get raped on the harder levels lol and the armored soldiers after lvl 20 are annoying : /
I finished the story the other day...took about 5 hours(almost 6) for me, uh not bad its a fairly good story and I guess ending. the multiplayer has been beefed up for people who like to run around, I can already tell that assassin and silencers are going to be my mortal enemy on there. Survival in and of itself is actually very very fun! I was quite surprised with this feature, though I think the worst problem with it would be the placement of the items you can buy but hey thats just me.
Been playing for awhile now. I like multiplayer, though in my case not much has really changed. The whole weapons perks thing was advertised as something it's not. I thought it was going to be a system where you earn points to put in the different categories, but it really is just one perk at a time. I wish though they had retained the old camouflage colors. the new ones are all really drab looking, MW2's desert was pretty much on all of my primary guns.
Another point of contention is that, once again, they remove the gas block on my fav rifle (M16) when adding an optic. Why? There's no low-profile unit in it's place, or a flip sight. no, they just remove it entirely. Why not put the ACOG on top of the carry handle, or put the EOTech or red-dot on a riser, that would remove the front sight tower from view just fine. And why did they go back to the plastic handguards for them? I defy you to show me a M16A4 in use that doesn't have a KAC M5 RAS. On top of that, they mount short sections of rails right on the side, where the joint between the handguard halves are. there's no damn point for them to be there!
And while I'm getting nitpicky and going gun-otaku on it, why-the-fuck is the red-dot once again a made-in-china POS airsoft red-dot? SureShot does not make anything that belongs on a real rifle. They even mount it on a damn PKM for gosh sakes. Perhaps if the dot started floating around after the first...fifteen shots or so it would be accurate. Why not use an Aimpoint M2 or T1 for the red-dot? Were they afraid that people would confuse it with the ACOG? [shakes head]
Final nitpick...the campaign was a little short. There were a couple missions missing from the end of Act-III, it felt a little rushed. The final battle...sure, it was cool. It needed a little more lead-up. And we still don't have much motivation behind Makarov, he's just the evil bogeyman we have to kill. Maybe if he
[spoil]
had actually shot Soap himself, and then the rest of the mission 'Blood Brothers' took place, there would have been more emotional drive to kill him.
[/spoiler]
i got the game on 360 at the best buy midnight launch and right now i have some mix feelings coming from black ops the gun balance is something i am not use to and i get the worst teams all the time but spec ops survival is a ton of fun but i haven't played the campaign yet
Played Modern Warfare 3 today. And it didn't disappoint me, it was good. Sad though that Capt. MacTavish has to die. But I ROFL'd at Makarov getting a HANG of a time.
