well they certainly took their sweet time tho... its been 3 years since the alpha patch... and mangagamer is going to release the official english version in a month or so... the only problem is, they are gonna charge a shitonload for the game when it comes out, its 50, not USD, but Euros, meaning its gong to be around at least $70 USD for the bloody game... sure as hell not worth it, its like ive been waiting all these years to have my wallet taken advantage of...
oh... and i was there personally when the owner of mangagamer said "our sales are doing bad, so we are seeing if this promotion will help." and he gave us all buy 1 get 1 free codes, which still only lowers the price to about as much as their competitors like JAST USA and etc...
ahh the ill fate of english version of Shuffle!... its most likely going to sell very few legit copies because of the insane price tag...
oh... and i agree KloWn, JAST = win, i asked them personally if they had any plans for bringing Sumaga over... they said, they are probably going to sometime, though they just got the deal to work with Nitro+, so they have to work out allot of the details.

edit: the price has been fixed to 36,95€, they say "in order for it to be enjoyed by more customers", great news indeed

yes, its due out in 2 weeks! the only problem, i checked mangagamer's site and the list price is still 49.95 euros (i checked at 06:00 PST on 01/08/2009 at the official site), i swear, the most i will willingly consider for such a game is equivalent to $50 USD, and thats pushing it, I love the idea of JAST USA however, teaming up with Nitro+, but mangagamer hasnt really shown too much promise yet, most of their translations are a little on the sketchy side.
edit: wait... i just noticed that its in their news section... i did some converting, their new price of €36.95 ~ $52 which is still damn expensive given that its supposed to be "enjoyed by more customers", which i assume they are trying to give an attractive price, in which its not... to think that their original price was €49.95 ~ $70... how did they expect allot of people to buy the game at such a ridiculous price? so far, MangaGamer has yet to impress me. JAST USA however, receives my approval, with their most anticipated releases going for at most, $40, since their recent game price drop, i think most of their prices are reasonable.

No real glaring engrish sentences and it read well.I have to admit their more recent works have gotten better, but i was just playing edelweiss over again the past couple days... and the grammar and general translation in general were horrible... there were countless times where i could understand what they were saying, and the script was completely off, or awkward sounding. but the translation aside, edelweiss is a great VN.

edelweiss was their first translation though ;p Also the one on the forums is the pre-release leak. The full version with a corrected script was never leaked online.

No real glaring engrish sentences and it read well.I gotta disagree on this; there's an average of one mistake on EVERY screen of text throughout the Prologue and Chapter 1. That includes typos, bad grammar, and awkward Engrish. Chapter 2 is better, but still error prone. (That's as far as I've gotten.) They even misspell the main character's name once. And the characters like to "smile bitterly" a LOT -- especially when it isn't appropriate; a sure sign of a literal (but not appropriate) translation.
It's a fun read even with the mistakes, but I dunno if the sloppiness is worth the cash.
I've heard second-hand that KiraKira was also an earlier translation (ala Edelweiss), which was later cleaned up for release. Sure seems that way. Mangagamer has been making noises through various channels that they're trying hard to improve their upcoming translations (Shuffle, Higurashi), so we'll see.
