I dunnot if it'll be the first to die (it might be though) but im pretty sure that MS will be the first one's out with a new gen-system.
They seem to like having headstarts on stuff (even if it means sacrificing the quality of the system).

Well I am kinda basing it off my experience with the old Xbox. If it was anything like that, all support for the 360 would suddenly be cut off and MS would focus entirely on the new system. Of course that might not happen but yea... The last one to die will be the DS though.

"Real" games? I don't know what games you are referring to and am just going off of the Nielsen report. The average play times for the PS3 and 360 where nearly double the average play time of the wii. You can view it for yourself here

Yeah, the DS is a beast when it comes to sells. Still, the new DS sucks. Seriously, they removed the GBA port for a crappy camera that doesn't work half of the time?

Well, the good thing is that hopefully the DSL prices go down which means I can finally pick one up.

DSL was a mistake by Nintendo imo. Do the even sell the normal DS anymore? If the PSP2 comes out and it delivers all that the rumors say it will like turning lead into gold then I'm sure that will sell great. Tho it is going to be expensive and I'm sure people will bitch about that.

Can't say it surprises me, but one can't judge all the games on the Wii on that "overall playtime ratio".
Like i said, the non-party/family games holds you occupied just as long as the games on the other systems.

That's not entirely true.The DS sells well thaks to the gimmick that is touch screen and it is cheaper. Also the wii sels cause it has the motion sensor gimmick and it has been far cheaper at points and is still cheaper then the others.


If the PS3 was say 299$ for the basic and 399$ for the premium there is not doubt in my mind it would sell a hell of a lot better. Now I am not sure if Sony can or will do that due to production costs or if software sells will equal out money loss from the price cut.


Also there is word Sony will be announcing a Wii controller for the PS3 at E3. There is a LOT of support behind that rumor.

The DS sells so well because of it's brilliant library of games, sure it's inovative way of playing 'em has helped, but it didn't do that until the developers started utilizing the touch screen the right way.

The DS sold pretty horrible in the beginning, it was when it started to get all the games, that today make up it's awesome library, the sales went up, and never stopped.


In sweden the Wii actually has pretty much the same prize as the 360 and the Ps3, and it still sells more than any of 'em.
And ofc it's gonna sell if it has a new way of playing, that's how the systems evolve, nobody gave a shit about having a joystick on their controls before Nintendo started using 'em on the N64.
But yes, the fact that it's so cheap (in the US anyway) has is a big reason it has sold, and is selling so well.


Ofc it would, cheaper product = more sells.
But as you said, Sony probably won't do that since they're already losing alot of money on each console sold.


That doesn't surprise me at all, Nintendo inovates, the rest follows, it's always been like that.
If im not remembering it wrong there were talks about MS having something similar on the way too.

They have made evn now on production costs or damn near it thanks to less moving parts in the PS3 and making the CELL CPU smaller but keeping all the power.

The PS3 will see another boost in US sells soon because of inFamous being an exclusive and Prototype being a multi platform game. The FF complete thing alone in Japan sold 40K consoles.

I actually agree, mostly on hthe part that the price is soo fuckin high, Nintendo's distributor in sweden (Bergsala) is a bunch of greedy assholes, always overpricing everything.


Whatever news that makes a Ps3 pricecut a possiblity is good news for me.

Here the wii is $150 dollars cheaper then the PS3 and $250 cheaper then the premium PS3.

It could happen. Many people don't know but originally Sony and Nintendo were going to get together to make the NES/PS. It looked sort of like a hybrid between the two but then Sony pulled out and decided to see if they could make it on their own.
