The PC has the crappiest longivity of any of 'em, you constantly need to buy a new comp/or upgrade if you wanna keep up with the latest games.

Or use future programs or even resource heavy programs like heavy video editing programs. Not to mention software updates.

But isn't that the same as buying a new PC every four years? I mean the requirements for PC games (in general) increases as the specs increase. My 3-year old laptop is ancient compared to even the really cheap stuff now.

Unless it's the Wii, in which case you can buy it to go play old skool games. :P

VC and WiiWare are the only reasons why my Wii is still connected to the wall socket.

This is gonna be a crappy holiday season if you're a Wii-only owner. When Animal Crossing is the biggest title, then there some serious problems.

just giving my opinion(i don't hate consoles or detest them)...many people doesn't play consoles including me,unless you are still college boy or don't have job...hell i'm still studying and i worked during holiday, still don't have times to play any games seriously...+ you're surfing internet too

I study for 6 hours a day (not counting class time), and still have time to play games and surf the web. I don't have a job because I really don't need one at that moment.

Priorities and a good schedule are your best friends.

everytime I see a PS3 and a game I'd like to play on it, I think: "Y'know, I could just throw in another $200 and get a decent computer for the price they are pushing.

This year was the first time I bought a computer since 2002. I've put a lot of mileage on the old system but it was time for a new one when it could barely play COD4. So Instead of buying a pre-made, I went ahead and built my own. Sure it was $1500, but this thing plays Crysis almost full-bore. Another plus, this thing can scale to new tech for the next few years, requireing I only drop money on RAM or another vid-card for 3-way SLI.

As for games, if I cant get them for PC, I get them for Xbox 360. If you notice, games on compy are 10$ to 20$ cheaper than their console version on opening day.

Also, not to toot another website, but newegg.com sells comp parts REALLY cheap, so if your not squeemish about getting elbow deep into a comp to put your own together, take a look.

PS3 sales more units world wide then the 360 for Q2. Thats pretty impressive when you consider the 200$ Price difference. :D

I remember when people said the PS3 was as good as dead. That doesn't sound like a dead console to me.

Whenever I see a PS3 and a game I'd like to play on it, I think, "Y-know, that much money could buy a whole lot of food. Or electricity."

Seriously, I know that I personally am a cheapskate who hates to spend a lot of money, but the high price of the PS3 is staggering. I think that if a person/family buys a PS3, they are automatically grouped into the "upper middle class" economic bracket. Any black person who buys one must get tailed by the police for weeks, for two reasons. One, the person may be shot by someone wanting the PS3, and two, the police think the person's selling drugs. (Little joke there, not being racist or anything.)

Then again, I don't understand why people buy games the day they come out. $50 for a game? Shit, I'd rather wait a year and get it $20. Sure beats buying a game for fifty bucks and then selling it to a store for fifteen dollars of store credit.
