Nova Chasers (A space Western role-play)

((Just got back home from my medical treatment.))

I rub my ear as the Captain gives me a piece of his mind. As soon as I hear package, I stop rubbing my ear.

"Package? A package for me? I wasn't expecting any package. After we're done here, I'll get to the bottom of this "package" and see what's up."

I walk back over to where Harris and the girl were standing. I noticed the girl apologizing to the Captain, and a smidgen to me.

"Common sense.... That is the one thing I lack in. But if you want to spar..... Teal, just let me know. I might even be able to teach you a thing or two.", I say to the girl. "Now, when are we going to the castle?"

"Just a little refresher: a Kestral-class ship is not that big compared to most others, so there's no room for an arena. Like I said, there are other ways to relieve stress. And don't worry, there's our man right there now."

Rick points towards a short, stout man waiting almost impatiently near the castle gates.

"Chancellor. Hope you're doing well."

"You really talk too much, Mr. Walken. We've been expecting you for over an hour. We were scared you had abandoned us!"

"Please, we're not so shallow as to abandon any job that gives out credits. Now, let's get started. Where's the Princess?"

"Hmph. I doubt the universe will ever live to see the day you grow some manners and decency. Either way, you are now here, and we can send Her Highness with you. Walk this way."

With that, the Chancellor begins his penguin-like walk towards the throne room. Before they start to follow, however, Rick mocks him behind his back by imitating his gait, with a goofy frown on his face to boot. After a while, he stopped and followed him for real.

I giggled at Richard's imitation of the Chancellor. I became quite excited when the Princess was to arrive in just moments. I followed Richard and the crew until we abruptly stopped. I checked my breath, smoothed out my hair. I brushed any dirt off of my shirt and smoothed the wrinkles out. I started to panic as I realized how much of a mess I looked. The princess then walked toward us and I courtesy politely in her presence. Still down on the ground I spoke gently, "My princess, it is an honor of honors to meet you. Please excuse my ghastly attire. If only I had the mind to have dressed more--"

The princess cut me off as she gracefully tilted my head up, "Rise child, there is no need for you to fret in such a way. You look fine, I am very thankful of your service to me."

I stood up and smiled at her. I then waited for Richard's next order.

After meeting the chancellor, Harris gave a sour face, (just like any other aristochratic snob) he muttered under his breath. His face changed to a slight smirk at Rick's teasing imitation of the chancellor's penguin strut. Taking a deep breath, Harris kept a solid poker face on, understanding that even though he dislikes royals, he still needs to show respect. Harris watched as Teal addressed to the princess, giving a scoff to the princess' reply.

Harris wasn't really excited to meet the royal family, in fact, he was looking forward to leaving the most.

Rick chuckles at Teal's struggles at looking good in front of the Princess.

"Settle down, Teal. She may be royalty, but she's kind of like me when it comes to formalities. No real stance towards."

He then takes Nina's hand places a gentle kiss on the back.

"Nevertheless, you are looking lovely as usual, Your Highness."

Nina giggles from Rick's usual 'charm' and smiles politely.

"You never change, do you, Richard?"

The Chancellor then pipes in.

"Forgive me if I may seem rude, Your Highness, but I really believe you should get going. The royal teleporter is ready for you and the crew of the Infinity to use."

"Well, I guess we're set. At least we won't have to take that slow rail system again. After you, Princess."

Rick lets the Princess walk ahead to the giant capsule-like room beside them, ready to warp them back to the port. Once they all stand in place, Rick puts his hands over his ears and closes them tight. Nina sees the curious expression on the others and speaks up.

"Unfortunately, our warp room has the flaw of producing a sonic boom when activated. Us Windians have gotten used to it by now, but the rest of you may wish to cover your ears."

Before they could react, however, a white flash covered the room, and with a bang, they were gone.

((EDIT: OOC: Did we just pass the Madoka RP, even though this was made later?! XD))

((OOC: Well, the Madoka RP has been quite slow, so has Time Warriors. And since Rise is gone, I doubt those two RPs will be able to progress in their storyline, so we'll probably even surpase Time Warriors by then))

Harris walked into the teleporter with the rest of the crew, standing as far away from the princess as the room would let him and took a couple of pills that help with motion sickness, since warping usually leaves your stomach with an odd feeling. Harris decided not to tell the rest since he felt like he needed some humor.

"Here we go then." Harris said quietly as a white flash covered the room.

((EDIT: OOC: Being an amateur but enthusiastic drawer, I've been drawing a few anime style sketches of my character, however, I feel that I need more practice before they are adequate to post online. Just wanted to say, I might use these drawings to illustrate my character Disregard, I'm just drawing for the sake of drawing and probably won't post them online at all))

((I'm 12 hours apart from the rest of you guys and only get about 2 hours of not working when you guys are awake, so try to bear with me, sorry =| ))

No...package...expected.

Now that was a real problem; not for Avery, oh no. But things were not looking good for poor little John sitting on his crate. Avery had two options, one was signing off on the delivery and letting the man go, or shoot him and take the damn thing anyway. He was really leaning toward the latter, but sometimes shooting people causes more trouble than it's worth. So with that, Avery got up and put the whiskey back, turned, placed his thumb on the reader, and took the delivery.

"Right then, here you go. Goodbye Johnnie boy."

Avery opened up the bay door and motioned John out, quickly.

"Well I've kept you long enough, don't want to keep you, sure you have other packages to deliver. Have a nice life!"

And with that, John was gone.

"Bloody pissant."

Avery skipped back over to the crate with the whiskey in it and removed the fake thumb he'd placed on before he'd offered John the bottle. And speaking of the bottle..

"Oi Fi, you think there might be a print or two from that blighter on this thing?"

He was sure that if Fi had eyes she would be rolling them.

"And do what with it, make yourself a new thumb?"

"No no no, but still. Don't you think it a bit weird? We're on this rock for all of 30 minutes and Mr. Doctor Professor Bohr already had a package for him that he knows nothing about?"

"Earth to Captain Obvious; we've been expected today for a while now. And you did, for once in your life, follow the standard procedure for landing and registered our SN with the Port Authority."

Oh, right, he knew that.

"Well whatever, I don't like it."

Fi heaved a tremendous sigh, if computers could sigh in any case.

"You don't like anything Avery"

"Not true; I like women."

"You like a woman's body, not the actual person."

Oh, right, he knew that too.

"Fine fine, whatever. 'Captain, our guest is gone and left the package for Bohr, I gave them Old Piner's thumb print again so no worries'.

((After this, everyone can post again))

The guy was really scaring me now. He was all too quick to get me out the door for some reason after trying to delay me. But I didn't care anymore. So long as someone signed for the package, it was alright. After being shown out of the ship, I grabbed my coat close to me, and started walking towards the post office. I got back and there were 7 other packages waiting for me to deliver. But before I could get out of the door, my supervisor wanted to see me.

"John, do you know that last package you delivered?"
"Yes, the guy that signed for it was a little scary."
"Well, he is more than a little scary. That signature you got was from a dead guy."
"Like recently dead?"
"No. That bio rhythm hasn't been scanned for over 25 years."
"It might just be the scanner malfunctioning."
"No, these machines never malfunction. You are on a thin rope mister. One more blub up, and you can go kiss your ass good bye on the planet of Goord"
"Yes, sir. I'm sorry sir."

Great, planet Goord. It was a hell of a planet. And to be sent there is the worst punishment for a post man.

After a short moment, and another boom, the group of the Infinity and the Princess finally arrive next to the ship. Rick removes his hands from his ears and attempts to recover from the disorientation.

"Man, that can be a real bitch. How do you Windians handle it all the time?!"

The Princess giggles and looks at Rick.

"It all comes with practice, Richard. Anyway, we're here now. Shall we get going?"

"Yeah, let's. Come on people, we're boarding now. You can recover your asses on the ship."

With that, Rick and Nina walk into the ship.

"Hang tight here for a while, Princess. I'm gonna go talk to the pilot for a while."

Rick then heads over to the cockpit.

The sonic-boom was unnecessary. The type of warp-field project I was working on in the Brass would have gotten rid of that nasty side-effect of the warp. But of course, all good things have to end when it comes with the Military.

After the boom, and flash of light ended, we were outside the ship. I walk over to the ship, following the Captain. I was curious as to what the package was as well. The princess noticed me walking by and attempted to talk with me, but I was too deep in thought to pay too much attention to her.

"What about a sonic--" I slapped my hands over my ears a second too late as the transporter flashed off with a loud *pow*. There was a slight ringing in my ear but it soon left. I expected to feel odd and woosy when we appeared at the ship but I was calm. I followed the crew into the ship and I went to my room in the crew's corridor.

I looked around the plain room; walls were covered with metal and the bed was skinny and grey, what is this, a jail cell? I thought to myself with a sigh. I searched my room and found nothing. Then I went to the bathroom and saw my hair. It was frizzy and I combed my hair with my fingers. I noticed a comb there and I wiped it clean. After sprucing up, I went back to were I thought everyone was going to be. The princess stood alone and I walked toward her, "Princess Nina, how are you feeling?"

"I'm fine, thank you. What is your name?"

"My name is Talia James." I smiled respectfully, trying not to seem nervous, "I'm also sorry about earlier, I was just so starstruck."

"it's fine, Talia i'm use to it." with that, Richard returned to us.

((OOC: Really? #FF0080?! You don't think I know that's Circe's colour?! Besides, I was hoping that colours stay for the player characters only.))

Rick then walks past Nina and Teal to close the gates.

"Look alive, everyone! Avery's gonna lift off soon, then we're gonna warp straight to New Britannia. Should take a couple of hours, uninterrupted of course. Right now, I would suggest you take a seat or relax in your rooms until further notice. I'll be in my room if you need me."

With the doors closed, he starts to walk off, but stops and looks back at Teal.

"Oh, and Teal? Just so you know, my 'offer' still stands."

He throws in a wink and walks off, while sending one lest message.

"If you want, I can even bring the Princess into it. The more, the merrier!"

And like that, he exits to the inner halls of the ship.

((I know, I just wanted to see if it would be alright with you Artie. I didn't expect anyone to use it yet. lolz.))

I walked to the cockpit as the Captain was leaving. I go in, and Avery is moving to his seat.

"So, Avery. You said that a package came for me?", I say before Avery gets to his seat.

((OOC:lol I just wanted to see wat color it was.))

Richard was always teasing me. One day I might take him seriously, maybe today, who knows. I looked at the princess and her face was confused. I laughed politely, "Crazy Richard, always talking nonesense."

I walked off toward my room again and walked past richard's. I stopped there but then walked off to my room. I had my bag in the corner and I took out a wooden dart board. I hung it on the door and practiced my throwing knife techniques. With a flick of the wrist it hit the center. I closed my eyes and flicked another knife and it slid smoothly out my hand. Time slowed down as I pretended to moved the knife with my mind. I heard the knife hit the board and I looked to see it right in the middle next to the first knife.


I walked over nonchalantly to pluck them out the wall. I sighed loudly and became bored. Flopping down on the bed, I played silently with the bed's cover. I thought about Richard's offer again and the things he whispered to me...I shook my head and shoved my face in a pillow.

Harris headed for the med-bay, passing the crewmen's quaters where Teal was parcticing knife throwing in her room, he stopped for a moment to watch her get bullseye hit after hit. Harris gave a small applaud before continuing his way to the med-bay.

Opening the door and entering the med-bay, Harris hanged his trench coat and hat onto a rack by the door and dropped his pack on his desk, Harris was dressed underneath with a plain white button up shirt, thin red tie and matching black formal vest and trousers. Harris sighed, making his way to the medicine cupboard. "Well now, I can finally enjoy my peaceful time. . . at least until we reach the destination." Harris said to himself as he grabbed a couple of medicine bottles from a shelf labelled "Experimental Compounds."

Harris placed them on another desk covered with beakers, test tubes, petri dishes and other whatnot. Harris stopped for a moment, clenching his gut with his left arm, a familiar pain came back to Harris and he began couging. Covering his mouth with his right hand, he rushed to the sink by the operating table. Revealing his right hand covered in blood, Harris gazed into it with a worrysome expression before washing it off. Harris shook his head to what had just happened and rummaged through his med-pack.

((OOC: Harris has a certain condition that he recieved during his final years in the military, I only realized now how brief my character info was. I didn't really give much information about him. . . ))

Not to be kept from his seat, he settled himself in before swiveling the chair towards Bohr. Avery tossed the envelope at him.

"As far as Fi and I can tell, it's not got a bomb or something in it, so I guess it's just a letter. You can open it here if you care to, I'm about to take off so you might want to find a seat for yourself for a moment."

"Ok ladies and gents, either take a seat or find something to steady yourself, because it's about to get shaky. If you get a concussion it's not my fault"

Avery swiveled back, and went through the motions of take off. The inertial dampeners on Infinity never worked as well in atmosphere, and Ave like it that way. It was always such a smooth ride in space; flying through a vacuum is like watching butter slide around on a pan, no resistance. He had taken great pains by mucking up the dampeners enough so that when the ship hit actual air it would get a bit shaky now and then when going from air to space. The ship gave a great lurch as Avery lifted off of the docking pad, settling down to a simple shake now and then as they made the quick trip back to space.

Hearing the announcement made by Avery, Harris gave a sigh "Here we go again." he said in a tiresome manner as he hopped onto the operation table and buckled himself into place with the table's restraints. Harris usually enjoys the bumpy takeoffs but right now he was in the middle of something important.

Harris layed down on the table, the durasteel restraints clamped down on his legs and torso but not his arms, he had to release the restraints later somehow. He left his arms crossed as the ship began to take off through Windia's atmosphere.

I caught the package, and sat down in a near by seat for the take-off. It was bumpy at first, and then it got smoother. It always puzzled me. I could fix the dampeners for the Infinity to make it less shaky, but Avery didn't like that. He said he liked the shakiness of the ship going through an atmosphere.

It didn't take long to get the ship into space and a smooth ride, so I stood back up, and left the cockpit. I didn't want to take a look at the package yet, so I put it in my pocket, and went to the room that was supposed to be the girls. I knocked on her door, and waited for her to answer.

((OOC: I will not be posting tomorrow, my mother is in the hospital and I will be visiting her. She's fine though but if anything my bf will post if he feels like it or if u guys actually need teal to do something to continue on.))

I groaned as the announcement blared on the speakers. I laid on my stomach felt a belt buckle on the bed and put it on. I covered the top of my head with the pillow and began to sleep, or at least tried. After the ship finished going through the atmosphere, I slowly drifted off to sleep. A knock on the door ripped me out of slumber. I sighed, ripping the belt off and opened the door. My shirt was falling off myshoulder and almost exposed me. I blushed on Bohr comment on my shirt as I realized how much it did expose and I covered my self up. I was annoyed to see Bohr but also relieved it wasn't Richard, "I'm sorry about that, hello Professor Bohr."


((OOC: I've been editing this post and I'm so annoyed cuz this iPod keeps messing up my posts))

Harris gave a sigh as the ship past the atmosphere and the ride was more smoother, pressing the release button, Harris decided to go and have a walk around the ship. As the restraints released their grip on Harris and disappeared into the table, Harris gave a bit of a massage on his ankles as the restraints had cut circulation in that area before he left the med-bay, leaving his signature fedora and trenchcoat hanging on the wall hooks by the door. On his left was the cockpit and on his right was the rest of the ship. Obvious choice, Harris decided to go right. He noticed Professor Bohr standing by the door to the crew's quater's and as Harris walked past he gave a small nod, "Enjoying the flight?" Harris said to the Professor and Teal who he had just noticed as he walked pass, he wasn't expecting an answer.

Giving a stretch, Harris continued walking down, around the interior of the ship. He suddenly stopped after he realized something, the only member of the crew he hadn't talked to was the pilot. Harris decided he might as well introduce himself while he was still on the ship so he turned around and walked pass the two again, only giving a small wave as he past by the second time and headed towards the cockpit.
