I was willing to give Gin another chance because I truly thought he matured. Turns out I was wrong and it's my fault for being naive.

Yes I suppose luck does play in most battles. It's just that pure bashing gets old if used too much. Strategy from CG gave me something new to look at.

Also no one seemed to get my point I was really trying to get across is that even know Lelouch is physicaly weak dosnt mean anything. It's a mecha anime so you gauge the mechas strength not the persons. What i'm saying is that all the mechas are beasts. I saw alot of episodes coming down to one mech anhialating like 40 and not even being dameged.

you have to realize that one of the reasons why the mechas can rape 40 others in the span of 1 episode is because of strategy right? If you play enough strategy games, you will know that if you place a powerful unit in the right place at the right time, you can wipe out alot of enemy units in 1 shot (example: Warcraft III; Tauren warchief shockwave on an army of archers. Archmage blizzard, etc). It is because of strategical planning and exploitation of strategic advantages that these are possible =o You cant really count bleach and dragonball in, seriously, they are much more mindless than code geass ever will be.

No thats the same thing as DBZ and bleach. While i'm not saying that powerful units cant be in strategy. But when one unit takes 8 billion bullets and dosnt have a scratch.

What i'm saying is that a mecha running into the middle of the battle and not even bothering to dodge bullets isnt strategy it's just powerhousing.

Try starting up warcraft III, send in 1 footman, switch on defend and run into an army of archers. The footman will last a VERY VERY long time in there >>; Lelouch knows that the gurren could withstand miniature bullets and let the gurren go to that area, im sure there would be more powerful units in other parts of the battlefield, but he didnt ask kallen to go there to prevent gurren from getting raped if you get my meaning. Only because they didnt show those units or the worse possibility does not mean it doesn't exist.

Thats ichigos strategy run in and beat the enemy your saying that ichigo thinks up strategys as good as Lelouch. Thats fine with me. A unit thats invincible and can whip out an army isnt powerhousing well then I dont know what is.

I agree with Onime here. Where did Ichigo come from? You shouldn't put words into people's mouth. That's not cool. Not a good way to get your point across.

The point i'm making is that a juggernaut obliterating an entire army by himself/herself because she/he is more powerful is the same thing ichigo goku and the mechas in CG do.

If you're referring to Kallen's mecha cause they had an engineer that was experienced in the field of mecha design and mechanics that worked closely with the other engineer that designed the lancelot? Seems pretty plausible to me that she would be able to make a more powerful mecha if by luck or a break through that he hadn't came across or didn't think about.

Also in the end I would say that Britannia had the more powerful weapon.

Shikimaru is supposed to be a strategist.

I'll just have to pop in and say that Shikamaru beating Hidan is probably the biggest case of Plot no Jutsu in Naruto, he shouldn't have had the speed nor the strenght to hold Hidan as he did, so his victory is bullshit to me.

His attack speed is crap by Akatsuki standards according to himself, compared to others it's seriously no joke, he was totally owning Asuma, who's a special jounin, in a one on one while getting attack by Shikamaru, and he keept up with Kakashi (who's a candidate for the next Hokage) in terms of speed, he might've even been a little faster seeing how he was the one on the offensive.
It was also he who took down the two-tails, granted with some help from Kakuzu.

Shikamaru also nearly shat his pants trying to hold Hidan down for like a couple of minutes with his shadow-technique the first time they meet, the second time they meet he does it all the time, while jumping around in tree's and shit i might add, and with no sign of him getting tired.
He even held both Kakuzu and Hidan at one point, and what should've been wearing him down like hell didn't even phase him.

So bottom line, Shikamaru should've stood zero chance against him

Even tho you're right Shikamaru losing to Hidan really would have thrown off the "revenge" aspect of that arc. The student's master dieing by the hands of a foe and the student later coming back only to be beaten or killed by the same man. It was bullshit I know but still.

It also comes down to keeping the fans happy. If Shikamaru was defeated and Hidan won something tells me there would be a bigger crowd going "WTF!" then there would be a crowd going "HELL YAH HIDAN'S TEH MAN!" I'm sure the author of Naruto will tell you that he doesn't care about fandom and just wants to tell the story but that would be wrong. It's reasons like Kakashi hasn't been confirmed dead that shows it.

Shikamau losing really wouldn't have made me mad tho. I just don't like the fact that he won because the story had him win. Hidan should have won hands down but that would have messed up the story in the future in some way I guess.

You're misunderstanding me, i have no problem with Shikamaru beating Hidan, it's the way he did it that annoys me.
Shikamaru basically got a free power-up One Piece-style to be able to defeat him, even if alot of people don't think about it it becomes really clear if we go by power scaling and previous feats by Hidan.

So like i said, the fact that Hidan lost isn't bothering me (even though he was badass), it was something inevitable, it's the execution of it.
Shikamaru had a good plan (littered with plot holes, but still) but he shouldn't have had the physical speed/power to go through with it.

The main problem I see in a lot of Naruto fights is that during the battles there will be a complete conversation between the enemies usually giving one or the other time enough to pull off some trick or get something ready.

Also some characters seems to want to defeat a enemy a certain way no matter what. If Hidan hadn't been so obsessed with that ritual of his he could have just got in close to Shikamaru and fucked his world up.

I don't like how some characters after a family member has died or someone close to them has died they get a instant power up like Goku when Krillan died.

BTW I stopped watching one piece after the croc arc cause it just started to get fucking stupid (not that it ever made sense to begin with).

Ok time to get back on topic this isnt a naruto disscusion. Though that was an interesting debate.

Now on the matter of mechas in CG what i'm saying is how do terrorists gain tech equal to the most powerful nation in the world. Do they have unlimited funds or something cause it sure seems like it.

Some of your 'points' really make it look like you lack knowledge about what you hate.

With all it's flaws the 2 seasons of CG made a really good job in portraying the order slowly raising to power. The ones in possession of state of the art technology wasn't the sorry ass band of terrorists Zero took over at the beginning of the series (most of their gear was stolen/intercepted equipment anyway and low numbers/quantity often forced them to use guerrilla tactics). It was a giant, well organized group with backing (and founds) in several countries, composing many hand picked elites/geniuses further fulling the war effort. And even before that they still had backing of the Kyoto group and continued rounding up the remains of other anti-Britania organizations.

True, but it's the same in like 99% of all shounen :P

And that's the problem, Hidan should've had the speed to blitz Shikamaru to hell, he shouldn't even have the reflexes to react tbh.

But whatever, it's not like it's an uncommon thing in shounen.
