I was relieved by how the first episode of Durarara!! turned out. In my opinion its the only promising "good" show this season. The OP is in fact quite nice but the ED is a little too j-boybandish for me haha.
I also have a weakness for the whole "family of characters"-esque set up, and they all seem interesting, especially Walker.
Yeah, episode 2 was fantastic. The BGM continues to impress me with its perfect-placement and mood-fitting style. Definitely my favorite show this season, and as Wrengear said, it looks like it can only get better.
Now I just have to find the time to watch Baccano!!
Shifty: Don't find the time, make it. You won't regret it.
Show is great so far... It's absolutely gorgeous, the voicing is excellent, and the story and perspectives are moving good. A diamond in the rough considering everything else I've seen this season has been trash so far.
I saw Durarara! episode two and I went crazy, here was the second episode of a series I was enjoying.
I start the episode and am greeted with a simply wonderful intro which I watch. The episode starts and I'm greeted with a whiny voice narrating in what was attempting to be a philosophical manner.
As you can assume I wasn't pleased. The narration continues and I bear it till she says, "This girl was suppose to die two days ago."
It is at that point I'm so disgusted with the episode that I start skipping through but to Durararar!'s credit, I skipped very little because I was expecting the show to get better.
It didn't.
I started watching again at the scene which shows the events from the previous episode, the only good episode in the series thus far, but eventually got tired of watching them and closed the tab.
I watched less then ten minutes of the episode. The series is going down shit creak and I hope it doesn't stay the course.
I didn't watch episode 2 yet due to weak internet but I think this series feels like Persona without monsters and added a lot of real life elements (besides the bartender and the headless rider)
I didn't get it why some of you guys didn't like the second episode. It really captivating & give a moral values to the series.Suicide is bad though.Given that Japan is high rates of suicide case, this ep at least give message to young Japanese to avoid suicide because it's really a dumb move to do.It also shows that even without a head,Celty at least have a heart based from the text message she typed.
EP 3 is one hell of episode, full of badassery & craziness going around.I think describing the entire event of this ep is not enough,so I instead post a gif to express epicness of this episode:
PS:Izaya is the No.1 Magnificent Bastard of The Year, nuff said.
Knowing your seiyuus well truly pays dividends. I guess you should know that in the first episode, Mikado was one of those "speaking" in the chatroom, just as it was Simon in the most recent one. Having said that, the "chatroom" is simply another form of storytelling.

Also, this being the animes topic, people coming in here should be expected to have watched the episode or see others discussing what happened in the episodes.
Its their own stupidity that got them spoiled.
Never in this lifetime did I ever imagine you capable of saying something of the essence. Plus -Rep!

So, it looks like this anime will have a lot of cameos from other series?
Only a few of those in-commonly “related” to the production and whatnot.
I didn't get it why some of you guys didn't like the second episode.
Hope you weren’t referring to Harmonian’s post when you said that because no matter what, you absolutely wouldn’t.

Diverse group of characters with intertwining fates you mean? That’s Ryohgo Narita to you.
Funny how you could say that despite not having seen Baccano! which is in fact one of the better anime series out there that has just what you've mentioned.
Speaking of which, the resemblance is really striking but is a given since most of the elements comprising the story (not to mention the OP sequence) are very akin to that of those seen in Baccano! so it is as if I’m reliving the awesomeness of watching that series over again.
Episode 3 for me was hilarious btw. And yes, mainly because I’m racist (probably) that I find Simon to be somewhat of a clown considering that the ridiculous accent and all that is nothing new to me.
Its quite refreshing how good episode three of Durarara! was.
I was worried for nothing; the philosophical bullshit which isn't philosophical was tolerable and the episode had much to offer in terms of progression.

I'm glad the philosophical bullshit which isn't philosophical which, in sense, would mean that it isn't philosophical bullshit but only bullshit alone, was tolerable for you. I agree on the progression seeing as it introduced more characters and I have a better view of what's his name. That seemingly sadistic dude. Izaya. Izaya Orihara. He's my favoruite character now.
That Izaya guy is quickly becoming my favourite, not only is he voiced by one of my favourite VA's but watching him stamp on that girls mobile was priceless xD

I don't know what wrong with you Harmonian (have you taken any medicine today?),always bitching for whatever reason & even insult the band play my favorite OP song of this season & they didn't did anything wrong. Why suddenly so emotional?Don't like it,drop it.END OF STORY.I'm sick to entertain people like you.
