As you all know, the TV series have just come to an end. (Yes, we're a bit sad about it I know) but the good news is, the series isn't quite over as it is, yet. There's gonna be a two-part movie that should follow and the first part is scheduled to premiere on November 28th of this year at Japan.
Note: I believe that the first movie is going to be the retelling of the 11-episode TV-series judging from its title.
(I'm not 100% certain about it of course)
So again, here's what to expect:
Movie I - The King of Eden (11/28/2009)
Movie II - Paradise Lost (01/-/2010)
And so the wait has officially just began... and it's definitely gonna be a long one at that. So prepare yourselves mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually as you deal with the worst kinds of depression and withdrawal episodes.
The series begins on November 22, 2010 with a missile strike against an uninhabited area of Japan, claiming no victims. This apparent terrorist act is referred to as "Careless Monday" and disregarded by most people. Three months later, in the United States of America, a young Japanese woman named Saki Morimi is visiting Washington D.C. as part of her graduation trip. When she gets into trouble, a mysterious Japanese man, who introduces himself as Akira Takizawa, helps her through it. The man appears to have no memory and is completely naked, carrying only a gun and a cell phone charged with 8.2 billion yen in digital money.
(The trailer alone was enough to convince me)
This is another upcoming series this spring that I'm highly anticipating. A series based on the original story by its Director, Kenji Kamiyama; produced by Production I.G. - the animation studio that's responsible for bringing us the "Ghost in the Shell" series and many other. (but I'm still a MadHouse fan before anything else) :P If I'm not mistaken, the series should run for just about eleven (11) episodes and is set to premiere on the ninth day of the following month (April 9). Another thing worth mentioning about is the series' OP theme - a song by the "legendary" English rock band, Oasis entitled "Falling Down." (I'm an avid fan) - not really, but I do like their music/sound.
This definitely looks worth the time. I was almost reminded of the Bourne Identity there for a minute. The art style was also familiar, since it was done by the same person who did Honey and Clover.

I know Honey and Clover but,
I didn't know that... Really!?
*Looks at OP pic and Trailer again*
It does look similar but... I don't know. This may be due to the fact I didn't watch alot of Honey and Clover...

 You haven't seen/finished Honey & Clover yet?! (I REALLY think you should) :D
...
Regarding what g-money had already mentioned, I'd like to confirm that award-winning "mangaka" Chika Umino is in fact the one responsible for the character designs of this series.
if you haven't thoroughly checked my initial post:
ANN wrote...
"Honey and Clover" celebrated manga artist, Chika Umino is contributing her unique touch for the original character design...
Yeah - thought Honey & Clover as well the instant I saw it.
Anyways - 'must watch' list updated. I rarely do personal research on upcoming seasons so that quality releases make an ever bigger impact. I expect this to be one of those.
Quality studio, Kenji Kawai with the music .... haba-haba-habba :D
I do think that Chika Umino's art style has improved, since they seem to agree with me in this new series. I've never watched Honey and Clover because I thought the animation style wasn't appealing to me, nor did I want to watch a headaching series, but the artwork is definitely one and the same, and no love triangles and unrequited love this time.
This looks pretty good. At first glance it's got that typical "brainwashed killer for an organization" feel, like Rose Hip Rose or Kite or something. Kenji Kamiyama never does anything poor quality, though, so I'm sure there's a great twist. I'm looking forward to this.

Story:
On November 22, 2010 ten missiles strike Japan. However, this unprecedented terrorist act, later to be called as "Careless Monday," does not result in any apparent victims, and is soon forgotten by almost everyone. Then, 3 months later... Saki Morimi is a young woman currently in the United States of America on her graduation trip. But just when she is in front of the White House, Washington DC, she gets into trouble, and only the unexpected intervention of one of her fellow countrymen saves her. However, this man, who introduces himself as Akira Takizawa, is a complete mystery. He appears to have lost his memory. and he is stark naked, except for the gun he holds in one hand, and the mobile phone he's holding with the other hand. A phone that is charged with 8,200,000,000 yen in digital cash.
I'm looking forward to this one a lot. It's being directed by Kenji Kamiyama who directed Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex series and Moribito -Guardian of the Spirit-. Just thought I would share it with some of you. :)
PD, don't wanna impose on your thread like this but there's already a topic for this...
Eden of the East by yours truly

in any case, feel free to give it a look.
Damn, I guess I'm just slow on the uptake... I also looked through only the first 3 pages to make sure there wasn't a topic on this and not seeing it and feeling safe I posted it... and now well what do you know, I missed it by a page. T_T

This is the series that I've decided to focus on for the season. I'm really looking forward to it and so might as well inform you guys that the first episode is already subbed by gg(on a whim) and so did Desire-subs.
I sure plan on doing a weekly episode review IF it proves to be something special. So hopefully, like in the OP themes' lyrics, "Please don't waste my time." 8)
Would a cop really ask a person to pull out their johnny? Anyways, the story is interesting and has that John Bourne feeling so far. I was amazed on how good the English acting was good and the artwork for Dulles International Airport was superb. This was the first time I heard an English song for an anime and the song itself goes along with the plot.
Eden of the east will definitely be put on my list of good anime to watch for the spring season.
