Just watched the first episode and I love it already, definitely on my to-watch list.

This definately seems to be plot driven. On my watch list. Hopefully a decent group will pick it up.

First ep was all that I expected it to be and more. I was a bit scared that there would be a lot of engrish in the show but I.G. didn't disappoint and delivered non-Japanese voice-actors along with the gorgeous visuals.
As expected - this baby lands alongside FMA as my top new show of the season.

Also, I've never heard of a penis being referred to as a "johnny" before. A johnson yes, but not a johnny. I suppose it's not exactly a big leap, although it's strange to learn new versions of English slang in a subbed anime...

Like I said, I didn't mean to say that they were inexperienced nor did they only have a handful of subbed series under their belt; I meant it as literal as it could get. I honestly haven't seen a lot of their work (due to other sub groups which I liked better), and with the very few in which I did (Jubei-chan2,Shikabane hime, and what else?), I simply didn't like them as simple as that; it was merely a matter of preference.

I truly appreciate what you did in opposing my statement though I doubt my opinion would change that easily. In any case, having a number of alternative subs could only prove useful to us viewers.

I'm having a bitch of a dilemma in picking a sub group for this ...

GG is probably gonna be the fastest (Desire is crap so I'm omitting them completely) and are very likely to finish this but they tend to improvise on their translations. The first ep also has inferior quality compared to the HD releases.

Lunar started off on a very high note IMO with the slightly better quality (mainly due the more vibrant colors) and slick, fluent sentences. I'm still hesitant abouth them though, since little-to-nothing remains from the once awesome staff and some of their more recent projects tended to get stalled or lose quality as they progressed (Macross F for example). They also often drop licensed shows.

Frostii and Sudo are also on the job, scoring perfect notes for now but they're bound to stay behind (especially Sudo). These two obviously put the most work in their releases (especially in the editing department). Also Frostii is pretty sure to finish it ... eventually.

Then there's the giant hydra that is called Shinsen-Subs.... For now I like their vocabulary choice the most (with the video second only to Lunar) but gawd only knows how many people are on the job and whether they finish in reasonable time (FMA seems to be SHS's prime project for the season so this will probably stay behind).

For now I'll stick to the faster of the Lunar/Frostii pair.

Wow what a surprise this anime was. I never would have watched it if I didn't see the suggestion on FAKKU's main page when the site was going down. This series is fantastic! Definitely one of my favorites for this season!

At first... I just ignore this anime when It appears in the main page... When I'm out of anime to watch I just checked this and watch the trailer... And gives me interest to watch this anime...

I forgot that I'm playing Suika(VN) when I check this topic and watched the anime...

Started watchen this anime at the beginin of this season and cant wait for more. This is by far my favorite so far this year. I love the mystery.

Attention fellow brothers who are always so patient in waiting for each following episode week in week out. I'm very pleased to let you know that gg has already released the fifth installment of the series just earlier today. You guys may already have seen it by now (the hell would I know) since nobody even bothers to talk about it afterwards.

Setting that aside, I'd like to ask for recommendations on some other EotE discussion boards out there that you've been visiting and quite familiar with; where discussions about this series actually occur. It's not only an issue of finding one as I can definitely manage that on my own. It's just that I want to be sure on a certain extent; I need a second opinion of some sort. :lol: I'd appreciate any help that you can give (just keep in mind that I'm not that smart; I'd rather talk about and organize facts than to conceptualize). Or even better if you guys could start discussing with the very few of us here instead. Share some ideas/suggestions on how we can propagate the discussion for this awesome series much further. 8)

Okay, I've just watched this up to episode 5. It has yet to make any sense at all. People willingly handing their pants over? A policewoman who let suspects go after one of them flashes her? A guy gets stabbed in broad daylight and nobody notices? Someone dispenses 120 billion yen to random people in order to save Japan? Are we supposed to take this stuff seriously??

Yet I find myself still watching this with fascination. Hopefully it gets better. Also the OP and ED are a visual feast. Keeping an eye on this series..

First, about the policewoman, the security photo is implied to only show his genitals clearly and not his face, so I guess that's the identifier she used. Akira said though "It must have been cold" and the policewoman's 'woo' behavior indicates his genitals did not match the photo in a good way, and she was impressed by his equipment.

On another note, in the beginning of ep 5, did she really use the cigar cutter to amputate S&M guy's johnson? Someone's been watching too much guro.

Okay, the NEET stuff I can get (only got ep 6 after looking at Wiki) but what's the deal with the 'Johnny Snatchers'? Are there really criminals like that in Japan? Or has that woman killed 20,000men like that?
