How did you get into anime?

When i was younger my cousin showed me subbed dbz videos and when toonami first appeared i watched it becaused they were the first to air dubbed episodes. This lead me to Outlaw Star & Tenchi Muyo and went off from there.

Back when I was 15 I was going out with this 17 year old Dutch girl and she watched anime (FUCK WAS SHE HOT...). Anyway, she showed me an episode of Naruto and I just started downloading those. I then grabbed Fullmetal Alchemist, and the rest is history.

That, and we broke up with each other at the same time (We both told each other it was over at the same time, our voices literally over-lapping!). It was epic lulz.

Rurouni Kenshin TV series...

I used to watch Tenchi Muyo when I was reaaly little, but I didn't get into anime untill I was like nine or ten. I was up at like 11:00 pm and I turned to Cartton Network to find a show called Inuyasha, and I was hooked.

For me it was also Toonami, which lead to The Midnight Run. I remember watching Tenchi Muyo followed by Gundam Wing and Dragon Ball Z... those were the days.

Well I'd seen some anime on tv before and my friends in highschool were friends with older people in the anime club so it went from there and eventually I co-presided over the club in my senior year.

Damn, same here, though I was also watching Trigun and Sorceror Stabber Orphen, and I can't remember much about any of them, lol.

I guess Cardcaptors (yes, the English dub *shock, horror*) also played a part, though I certainly stopped after I found the Japanese subs...those were the days...

What really got me into looking up other Anime shows was
Inuyasha.

but my very first contact with anime is of course doraemon,but it was h x h that pulled me in.

Pokemon, Yep I know but it was pokemon. I remember hitting the internet one day, looking up pokemon and I came across the word anime.

The first thing that got me into actual anime from Japan, and not just whatever was imported here and convereted so I didn't really even know it was from Japan was probably Vampire Hunter D back in '85.

well.. there was this cute schoolmate i really like and she is a hardcore anime fanatic so i decided to watch some anime myself so that i can relate to her~

now i am more of an addict than her~ hahahahahaha!

well i would have to say im the same as everyone else here toonami with tenchi muyo, gundam wing and DBZ
