I recall seeing Sailor Moon and Dragonball when it was on tv in the early 90's. Then the first "real" anime I ended up actually buying and watching was Evangelion. Which got me hooked onto other stuff soon after.
When I used to live in Korea, there were a lot of anime on TV, but I was small and couldn't understand anything. I started anime after watching Love Hina... What a gateway anime. XD
I remember when i was a kid back then... there was captain tsubasa airing on TV... damn thats a memory XD... then DBZ and then i started digging the net for anime XD
I was an 8 year old girl that loved Barbies and Princesses and video games.
Sailor Moon was like all of that combined into one nice TV show. xD (Cute blonde girl, that just so happened to be a princess, that also fought monsters. lol )
After that I watched Toonami and all of it's other anime shows that they put on. I really got into Pokemon and DBZ in elementary school. Dx
And then it was Adult Swim after that and I really got into Cowboy Bebop. In fact it's still my favorite anime series and I have all of the DVDs and the movie. Although I have never read the manga. /Too poor, too cheap
SECONDED, its amazing how the more child oriented television stations have always appeased my preferences. the hobby has developed over the years thanks to a bunch of variables, but the first anime that inspired my otakudom was sailor moon.
Woooooooooooooot! For all those hooked mainy by 90's toonami!!
(>o_0)>*Hi five*... for every anime lover in general.
I dunno most people hate anime at first... its like you have to force em to watch the firs 3 eps of a series and BOOM there an anime zombie like the rest of us.
Anime Zombie: noun; People who need anime in there life or go into a deep depression; Anime_Haze
