How did you get into anime?

Heheh... emang...
tahun berapa itu yah? saluran apa ya? Dah lama banget ampe lupa....

When the local free-to-air channels started showing some older series produced before 2006/2007.

I believe most of us got into anime at quite a young age, just that we did not know of such a term. Instead we called them cartoons. Doraemon, Pokemon, Cardcaptor Sakura, Sailormoon, Slam Dunk, etc, had always been known to me as cartoons until I learned of the term "anime".

I started out watching Speed Racer, Transformers, and Voltron. It wasn't until I watched Sailor Moon (at 6 in the morning) and Tekkaman Blade on TV that I was aware of 'anime'. Later came Toonami/Kids WB, then Adult Swim, and then fansubs and so on ...

It was webcomics that started my path to anime/manga/hentai.

Webcomics e.g. Megatokyo, then Love Hina manga, then Erementar Gerad anime, then the rest is history.

yeah i heard ppl use the word "anime" alot and when ppl where talking to me using that word i was just nodding not knowin what its was... then someone(forgot who) said it was a type of fn porn... then i went to an anime store cause my cousin used to buy fansubs of rurouni kenshin n dbz and yeah posters were talking about anime and listed shows and im like oh duh its all japanese cartoons. which i noticed were all the cartoons with quality artwork lol.

Dragonball Z on Toonami back when I was in middle school...which led me into an anime store, which led me into realizing how hot anime chicks are, and so here I am. :)

When I was in elementry I watched Pokemon and when I was in middle school I watched Sailor Moon, DBZ, Tenchi Muyo, Yu Yu Hakusho. And I went from there. 8)

Ranma 1/2. They used to air it all the time on TV.

Oh god lol. It must have been back with Pokemon and all the shows on Toonami. I remember being so pumped for new DBZ episodes.

The first anime I saw was Pokemon but it was definitely not the one that got me hooked. While at school, I started watching the Bleach episode special 52-53 on my friend's computer and I was blown away by it's epicness, action, and interesting characters.

When I was in middle school I was downloading porn or something don't remember and ended up with hentai results through kazzaa but when the video finish download I ended up with a video of Love Hina o_o then I fell in love with japan/anime <3

doraemon when i was 6.... i got corrupted very young... lost it for a bit for warhammer 40k at 10, then it came like a freaking headshot when i discovered the gundam series..... from then on forward, i have been hooked...

Come to think of it I can'y remember which came first, Tenchi or Pokemon.... all I remember is wacthing both of them religiously at one point.

:P yeah i was young too... first saw db eps at 4 and dbz at 5 but in jap. so yeah it was all about the raw fighting... then kenshin eps at 6... i hated to read fan subs cuz i could never read all that fast when i was under 10 lol.
