How did you get into anime?

Watching Elfen Lied in my freshman year of high school is where it all started. I had watched others before like DBZ and such, but I didn't start to get interested until Elfen Lied.

A good family friend, who has spend a lot of time in Japan(fluent in the language), would send my family good Anime from time to time, I always enjoyed it the most.

At about the age of 12(maybe?), I started watching Inuyasha on Adult Swim. Was the first series I religiously watched. Amusingly enough, also leading to my first experience with Hentai(Thank you, Google!)


From there? I dunno, the Internet helped a lot.

Weird story really...

I grew up with DBZ and Pokemon, but I did not know that they were epic Japanese anime. I didn't know what anime was and I had no knowledge of Japan.

THAT ASIDE...

I was on youporn or pornhub one day and I came across a hentai video (which I didn't know what that was at the time) titled 'Koihime'. I watched it and I was like "I need to find more of this." So I googled it and came across the anime Koihime Musou. Keep in mind that the hentai video on youtube wasn't actually Koihime Musou, it was something else just titled Koihime.

So I began watching Koihime Musou and I was like "this is AWESOME." And my otaku trend spanned from there. I discovered MANY other titles and I have since watched so many series. There has even been a season 2 and 3 of Koihime Musou, which I have watched.

When I first found out what hentai was I used porn sites and various hentai porn sites (which weren't good at all) to find material. And then one day I came across Fakku - and I am so glad I did! Hentai and Doujin! And many other things to fill my anime obsession and some Japan related things. (this isn't relevant, but I am learning Japanese)

Anime is now a big part of my life and I won't be giving it up any time soon.

I grew up in Japan, so anime was my normal cartoons.

I started reading ranma 1/2 when my friend brought it over. After that I saw Dragonballz on tv and progressed onto inuyasha from there. Later on i learned all about downloading anime online and not watching the horribly dubbed shows.

It all started when I saw CLAMPS best (IMO) series on TV.

Well it all started when they showed Neon Genesis Evangelion on TV in Finland. I was so amazed that I had to look some more and more and now, few years later, I'm some sort of a anime fan.

Everything that was on Toonami circa 1999. Got into manga around 2002-03.

I do not know which age I was but I got the first Dragon Ball manga for Christmas. I liked the book and started a collection of them (I have almost every book, some lost). I later on found the same kind of books on the library and loaned one.
It. Was. Awesome. Now I am almost addicted to manga.

When i was a kid i watched like pokemon and yu-gi-oh and i guess my tastes just evolved

I remember growing up on Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Digimon, G-Gundam, and Monster Rancher. I used to watch them all the time before going to school or on the weekends when I wasn't playing on my NES or Genesis. After that, I just started to like watching anime, and got into manga when Shonen Jump started publishing in the United States. Good times.

those was the days. that was when i first got satellite tv lol. G Gundam was the first thing i ever saw on my super clarity tv *_____*

Dragon Ball Z for Anime.
Manga was Akira/Evangelion.

It all started a long long time ago in a distant time called the late 90's.
I started off watching DBZ and it was freaken awesome then I got into Sailor moon and those shows both made me more MANLY and SENSITIVE at the same time. Then I was into Pokemon and started to slowly get into more anime....then I moved to a place with no cable... so I started watching YU-GI-OH on the local channel and around theat time I got into Hentai when I was online and looking for more anime stuff.....and there was a anime girl with short pink hair and a dog chocker....I was sold.
then I picked up my first shonen jump and manga like yugioh naruto and bleach got me hooked and from then on my otakuness just grew.

Much as I hate to admit it, for me it was the good old DBZ on Cartoon Network. That started it all.

Started with watching DBZ on toonami then went to adult swim with fullmetal alchemist and inuyasha. After that I wanted a way to rewatch FMA so i googled it and found a few sites and now im up to 206 different series watched :) anime rules \o/
