How did you get into anime?

Saw Captain Tsubasa when I was 6 but didn't know it was anime. Then I saw gundam wing,G Gundam and Yugioh when I was like 10 and that got me started.

I wasn't too much of a fan of anime until Adult Swim pulled some bullshit and stopped anime at night... then I really really got into anime and manga all of the sudden cause of it and disconnected my cable and just focused on paying my internet.

My first anime was definitely between Sailor Moon and DBZ and whatever Toonami showed back when I was around 5-7.

Power rangers from around the same time helped awaken my Henshin love years later.

My first Manga is a more funny story since I stumbled across it one day going into borders. I can't remember if my first was JUMP or if it was Love Hina. But it took a couple years of buying and spending hours of my time in Borders until I found Onemanga(RIP Onemanga!!).

Hentai is something I don't remember when it started but it must of been when I was around 10-12 probably with Drangonball and digimon doujins I accidentally stumbled upon.

Btw really funny cuz most of us started watching anime during the early 90's meaning that most fakku-goers are around the 18-25 yr range?

i was 7 just moved into a new house... only had 7 t.v. channels fipped through found an episode of dbz though it was awesome, couple months later (after a major t.v. upgrade) saw an episode of pokemon liked it, then only a little while after that the combination of toonami and card captors on the WB started me down the dark path it walk today

My first anime that I remember watching was Cardcaptor Sakura, then it was DBZ (I hate it these days), and then Pokemon, like Neko-chan, no one knew what anime means and they still sometimes watch them without knowing its meaning.

I learned the meaning of anime through animax a few years after it came lol.

Getting back on topic, I have been watching anime and reading manga from a very young age. Anime titles which I have watched include Cardcaptor Sakura, Doraemon, Sailor Moon, You are Under Arrest... the list goes on. The same goes for manga titles, which include Dragonball Z, Bastard and Ranma.

However, my love for anime and manga, as well as my perversion for ecchi titles, was fully unleashed when I borrowed the DVD edition of Love Hina from a friend. :D

Sailor Moon and Love Hina are animes which I've heard alot about but had never been able to watch.

Pokémon and DBZ planted subliminal messages in my head that compelled me to like anime.
But I didn’t get into anime until I accidently downloaded FLCL and learnt that the internet is an alternative to the TV.

Not into much before other than if there is nothing worth watching, I tune in into anime. The anime Fate/Stay Night back in 2006 is the start of my want for moar and the rest is history.

I got into anime by local TV, i know anime since i was adolescent and up until now i've watched Voltus V, Gundam, Doraemon, Dash! Yankuro (yeah! Tamiya!), Time travels (the most hillarious anime on their ages), kickers, born to cook, Hachi, Shurato, Ronin Warriors, Mazinger, Getter robo, Dbz, rurouni kenshin, sailor moon, wedding peach, candy candy, flame of recca, Yaiba, Conan, Yuyu Hakusho, Slam dunk, ghost sweeper mikami, and lot's of more.. Those are some of the anime i've watched when in the past, and most memorable anime for me is doraemon cause back then, it's the ritual i have to do to watch it on sunday morning when i was a kid..
I also a tokusatsu Fan..

but nowadays i prefer manga since it's more handy for me..

I remember when I saw Cardcaptor Sakura way back on WB as well, from there, I had to wait quite a few years to get cable then discovered Inuyasha on adultswim and the shows that it ran. Then once I got a computer and internet 5 years ago...all history.

I watched all that cool cartoon network stuff & toon disney as a kid. But, it wasn't until my friend showed me Kingdom Hearts that I got more into anime.

First got exposed to Pokemon by a friend when I was in seventh grade and then I saw Naruto a year later when it started airing in the US. (2005 I think?) I was hooked but I thought they were just TV shows. A year later, my friend told me about this awesome new site, (well not anymore,) called Crunchyroll. Thats when I finally found out about anime and got addicted.

The first anime I've watched was Sakura Taisen which got me interested, then I started to watch Rurouni Kenshin and I was hooked instantly.

The first anime that I watched is Detective Conan. I liked it so much that I tried watching other animes too.

Definately because of Toonami. the popper of anime cherries everywhere.

I never 'got' into anime cause i never 'got' out of it. As a kid I would just watch what I liked. Voltron, Macross, Samurai pizza cats, G force. Wasn't until I was ten that I learned that all the stuff I was watching was called anime. Lol, it had dawned on me that what I was watching, was only a small portion of what was available. Got a job at 12, so much for the minor law lol, and used my income to buy VHS anime. God it was horrible. Over priced tapes that held two or even three episodes if you got lucky, bad dubs, no features.

Well, time moves on and formats change, but one thing hasn't. I gotta have my anime fix.
