Yeah, like when I read some of the novels out there... they actually follow a type of simple looking writing style. They add a metaphor or two, a few comparisons in a few situations and fluidly describes and progresses with the plot or lay out elements you'd want to keep in mind.
When we're writing short pieces, like a contest entry, we'd want to jumble it with lots of different type of words, make the writing really unique and all, thus make it high quality. But we can't maintain that type of quality on really big piece, be it novel or just writing in the internet. I learned that from my last writing, I couldn't put the same amount of quality everywhere, mostly the key parts.
@Leonard: Except that it's your thread whereas this idea isn't originally yours and wasn't made purposely for the sake of a collaborative work.
There's something called common courtesy.
