I see. What comes to mind is a relay writing thread where all of us dump our ideas together. I wouldn't mind that really. If it is both crazy and coherent, we may see ourselves writing an epic classic!

For now let's just use the Cesspit to form a collaborative work if you're okay with it, I'm too lazy to think out of a draft for a consolidated-collaboration event~

That is okay. Speaking about writing, I don't really write stories. I write monologues to be more precise. You may notice that most of the entries in the Cesspit really has little or nothing to do with a coherent story.

What you can consider stories that are written by me would be "An Erotic Encounter" and my attempt to continue a story in a relay writing thread. You know, the part when the protagonist mistakes the maids in the maid cafe for a domestic helper or maid, as I like to call them.

Well, the most important part I need for as an collaborative partner is their dedication. As long you're motivated enough to keep the collaboration, I'll be glad to comply with any of your request and help out with the best of my abilities in order to make a complete entry~

It doesn't have to be stories, maybe anything you would like to call it for sure

I think you'd just be invading in Cesspit if you do it there. Make a thread for it instead.... though I think something like Typewith.me or Piratepad is far more suitable.

Also, for starters, you should come up with a rather simplistic type of writing style that all the writers can follow to slowly blend in on the business.

Ah it's true, it might ruin the original purpose of the Cesspit~

I do know of Typewith.me and similar sites as Jerry's the one introducing it to me through one of his threads~

I will also stick to this simplistic style in order to make things easier lol, though I think my writing style by itself is already simplistic enough hahaha

For all the guys posting and lurking here, any suggestions on how making this collaboration thread to be a bit lively for the least?

I wouldn't say that a good piece of work would ruin the Cesspit. The Cesspit is a collection of stories or writeups rather than a piece of work that everyone contributes to. So, if you want something of quality, I'd think I would see you creating two threads. One thread for the story proper and another thread for discussion and inputs by other writers.

If I wanted to write seriously, I would of course adopt an approach that is entirely different from how I usually write.

ED: That is okay. Take your time. I don't know if I would be a good partner since time is really tight for me. But if you need support, I will have to give what I can spare.

Yeah, like when I read some of the novels out there... they actually follow a type of simple looking writing style. They add a metaphor or two, a few comparisons in a few situations and fluidly describes and progresses with the plot or lay out elements you'd want to keep in mind.

When we're writing short pieces, like a contest entry, we'd want to jumble it with lots of different type of words, make the writing really unique and all, thus make it high quality. But we can't maintain that type of quality on really big piece, be it novel or just writing in the internet. I learned that from my last writing, I couldn't put the same amount of quality everywhere, mostly the key parts.

@Leonard: Except that it's your thread whereas this idea isn't originally yours and wasn't made purposely for the sake of a collaborative work.

There's something called common courtesy.

Okay then I think I'll make the discussion thread first, it might be much easier than making the collaboration thread directly at a single sitting~

Yeah, and let people submit a rough draft for getting a proper setting in mind that all the writers can perhaps vote and agree on before starting the actual writing.

Well then, I think I should came up with some topics and issues in mind first in order for the discussion to be fruitful~

I don't understand what is being said. What on earth does the Cesspit have to do with this collaboration?

What I am proposing is a discussion thread and then a collaboration thread. Nothing to do with the Cesspit. It is all right if you don't agree with me but surely I hope I am not stepping on people's toes?

Okay here's my first thoughts about it:

1. Make two threads, the first for discussion, until we reached a consensus about how to put in the collaboration thread itself, before making the actual thread
2. When the collaboration thread is done, it roughly works similar to the contest thread, with peculiar rules, but this time the participants are partners or groups
3. After the collaboration thread is made, it would be kept only to post the stories in order to keep it clean. For the discussions and questions regarding the event itself, it will be done in the discussion thread itself. The discussion thread will could also be a place to search for partners too in addition of many other stuff
4. Maybe I should consider about the participants registering their partners first in the collab thread?
5. Should there be deadlines?
6. Will there be word limits involved or not?
7. Is it acceptable to submit series or will we just limit it to short stories??

That's all I could think for now I guess

4. No, do that in the main thread, have people discuss and take decisions in the discussion thread, then the one who takes the lead... or just one of the writer from the group or duo can post in the main thread for registration.
5. Maybe, but they better be long... and I mean, long. Considering that these collaborations will probably result in people wanting to write really long pieces, who knows, they may as well write novels.
6. Probably not. But that's your choice, I say don't put it. Unless you plan to make it like a contest where you'd HAVE to read everything that is written no matter what.

For the point 4, that's what I'm implying too. That's a good point to have I guess~

Point 5, I think the deadlines might cause some problem and they might disrupt the Contests if it drags on un-comfortably, so I'll leave that on for later lol

Point 6, Hmm..as I didn't have to read it all, as I'm just here to moderate things, it seems the word limit won't be needed at all

I also want to include the things that there might be multiple collaborations that an user has, in addition that every collaboration could also spawn multiple entries too~

5. Now that I think about it though... without the deadline, the projects and the threads may die. This is the writing forums we're talking about; we can't get too optimistic and expect a group or two to come out with a finished piece of work. So a deadline might encourage people to try and actually put some work into the projects. Perhaps a two months long or more for a deadline should be set? But I'm not really sure anymore... both my points may be contradicting each other, no they probably do contradict each other lol.

I do have a set deadline rules in mind though:

When they register a partner, they have a maximum deadline of 30 days in order to submit something within the time period, like a completed short story (one-shots).

And if it's a series, the 30 day period will be for submitting a single chapter.

Well I can't imagine the one-shot to be small. So I think they should be allowed to at least submit 2/4 of whatever they're writing within the given time frame.

Hmm...yeah I kinda agreed about that too~
