I really need to brainstorm for my writing projects sooner or later...

The consistent raising of the word limit always worries me. Doesn't it get tiring reading so much writing? (Question to both Rise and Xenon)

I got used to it. I feel very persuaded to skip out on very badly written entries, albeit I somehow deal with them anyway...

Sometimes my eyes starts to rebel against me, though. So I just take a brake and resume again later. Like an hour or so brake, but there are times when I just take the whole day as a brake lol.

Time to start procrastinating until Christmas =D

The word limit is honestly whatever the judges at the time are comfortable with. We talked it over and felt 2000 was a nice maximum. It may seem a lot to some, but because I'm incredibly organized, I space out the entries I read per day leading up to whenever the deadline is for the end of the contest, maybe read more, maybe factor in for days I may not be able to read. I remember last year reading on average of three entries a day when the contest ended, which is not really so high when you keep up with it. You just have to stay on track. Knowing I have the responsibility and duty to maintain diligence in thoroughly reading the entries people worked hard to produce also helps me.

If people remember our Valentines contest a couple years back, the hostess, Noel, made the limit 20,000 words to encourage longer entries. That's a bit much for me, honestly, but she made it a point that she didn't want people to worry about room. Hopefully we create a similar effect, but still maintain efficiency.

Ahhh, intriguing! It does sound like it would be much easier to handle to you pace yourself correctly. and a 20,000 word limit.... oh my goodness. I can only imagine what could have happened that contest.

I wrote 7000 word story lol. And it was rather rushed in the end. I wonder how much of that she read it.

I welcome the news of this writing contest but I do not fully understand the contest theme.

High mentioned that he thinks the contest is concerning the little events that happened in his life, or a slice of his life. I can write unhappy excerpts about someone else's life, but is that consistent with the theme? I am under the impression that the contest organisers want the participants to write about relationships rather than one's personal experiences.

PS: I will be in Malaysia, Johor until Sunday. I am glad to tell you that you won't be hearing much from me until then.

Well I mostly laid the foundations of my writings upon Slice of Life thingy, it could be something similar to your Summer Contest Entry. Just go write about your daily lives on this festive season or anything you wanna tell about =D

Speaking of which, that latest chapter I'm working out feels really intense it truly tires me out just by writing around 2400 words.

Latest chapter of Brickworks I presume? That aside, have you ever been to a wedding High, or anyone else in the Lounge. I have some misgivings about it that I intend to express in an event organised by this community.

PS: Why are there LOTR references and references to me in Brickworks? Because you know, being someone powerful and influential is the last thing I want.

Well I'm mostly come to the weeding for the meals, and most of the time it made me nearly throw up by the time I went home. It's kind of unpleasant~

LOTR references and such? Hahahaha didn't realize it lol~

In that story I could only see the Sutherlands as being one of these powerful and influential peoples, in addition of being downright cheeky and arrogant at times hahaha....they still had their good points though~
