Well I periodically saves the code of my stories on a notepad or something, and I usually wrote the story in Open Office so the file's safely archived on my HDD~

Yes I sometimes got that problem too, but backups greatly help...at least try to put a single chapter in a single word document~

But, when you were an inexperienced user, have you ever made that silly mistake?

It happens, but yeah it made me have to edit and post it again from the cut-off chapters...quite tiring~

Yes. I remembering writing a 1-2 page post on tumblr and then as I clicked to submit it, my internet cut or the servers were busy or something. I lost everything =/. I've learned my lesson and I make sure to type it on Word before I send in anything now.

Also, on a related note. When I type out essays or reports onto Word the way I save my files is that I actually 'X' out the word file. When you do that, Word will ask if you want to save your file, and I just click yes. But... Once every blue moon, I go and accidentally click no. Absolute despair! Sigh.

Edit: Tried to post in the summer writing contest page just now. 'Servers are under heavy load.' Great.

Go Ctrl + S at every moment you can find, that's the word my Lab Assistants told me frequently while we're doing a coding practice. That also works while we're working on stuffs like writing~

Xmine, why you no join teh contest?

Summer school is taking a toll. I have tests about every week or so, so I haven't really gotten the time to sit and materialize the story yet. I've got a test this friday too, but that should leave my weekend open to create my entry. Let's hope I don't disappoint!
