How do you ask a girl out?

Well the things that I watch out for are:
A) Get to know her and become friends. Get to know each other and try to find out the preferences. Also get accustomed to her friends and try to get a sense of her surrounding / family.

B) Once you got to know a good deal about each other, it get's interresting.
As allready stated by others, learn her schedule. Trying to get a date after a 10 hours workday with half the company on holiday / sick leave is a bad idea. If you know she is avaible on day a and b, ask her to go out with you on either of those two.

C) Location. This is actually imo one of the most important things. Be aware where you want to take her. Depending on personality and area there are several choices:
1) Restaurants, 2) your own home with you cooking for her a dish she likes (which you got to know during phase a), 3) interresting theme parks or for 4) the romantic kind a picnic at a not overcrowded place with a nice view.

D) Mood. This is the critical spot. Incase you try to serve a meal which took you long to prepare and which is really special, you prepared candles on the table and than playing hardrock in the background BACKFIRES (except both of you are excentrics :D) Also... incase you decide to eat together in a restaurant and you know she is a believing vegetarian do not order the juciest stake for yourself and hump it down like there is no tomorrow.

E) Topics to talk about. (depending on personality of course) Be decent on your first date. Girls in general don't like people talking about how they blew up the final boss in game X into 3847939 bloody pieces :P. The more you have in common the easier. Don't talk to her like a waterfall, rather "play tag".

F)Keep chatting with her after finishing, maybe asking her if she'd like dessert. Than when the point seems right, surprise her by asking "How about going out again on XYZ".(in a ramdom similar phrase of your liking)(A certain point time, not "another time" or "soon again"). If she agrees your chances are good. If you get a clean no... well sucks, but at least you tried and know now.

Don't keep alot of complicated thoughts when you go to ask someone out... if she really wants to go out with you there's no wrong way to ask... (only works for people you know).

wow this really is not that complicated, see first if your 18 or older you should have the b@lls to ask the girl that you like out,if you are younger (you shouldn't even be here) give a note to the girl titled "hey, i just wanted to ask" Then grow up or suck it up, and write "Do you wanna go out, or if you cant go out wanna be my girlfriend," the girl would admire your courage and if she sais yes your clear, if you are turned down, then she doesn't like you back, simple as that, don't play hard to get shyness and the waiting game will get the girl agitated, anyway good luck buddy,

I just remembered how I picked up my highschool sweet heart.

This is an awesome way to pick up that friend you wanted to be more than just a friend with.

Find a book, titled,"10,000 ways to say I love you", and approach the girl. have the book ready, and proceed to say,"I just wanted to tell you that I....", Ok now, this pause is intentionally, as soon as you pause, whip out that handy book, making sure the title is visible to the other, and proceed to read down the list of "ways to say I love you." The intended person will then playfully giggle, and proceed to stop you mid-list, giving you their answer. This way, you're not ENTIRELY crushed, if she rejects, and the relationship can be kept intact due to the humor. However, the laughter that comes from the act should push towards her saying yes.

So far it has given me a 100% "yes" result(Note: I've only tried it once)

ok,i'll give you helpless guys a tips:
sometimes we love being confessed at the most unlikely situation.

my ex confessed to me when we're out diving(using some kind of waterproof sign that says "would you like to be loved by me and love me in exchange?)

and i like guys who got the balls to confess in public.

First girl i was ever with, it just kind of happened. We both seemd to go with the flow and just end up together. It was more a curiousity thing than anything else though as we were both young at the time.

The only girl i ever confessed to that i liked [Us both being total weaboo i decided to say it in japanese.(Which she found cute)] also told me that she liked me, but wait for it, wasn't ready for a relationship at that time.

Being relatively intelligent I was able to discern that I was rejected but it may just be me but phrasing it in that way still leaves that little seed of doubt. By seed of doubt i mean the possibility that something could happen.

After that we grew really close as friends but never went further than the invisible line we both imagined to be there. About a year down the line in a msn conversation things lead back to us. I then got the "I love you so much that i cant let anything happen that would ruin our friendship"
After that i didnt know what to say.

Apologies for going off on a tangent there but the advice above seems farily solid most of which il be using myself :)
