It's everywhere. Both the online and offlin world is abuzz with the topic. The world as we know it, will end on December 20th 2012. The Mayan Calendar ends at this exact date and predicts this (I have a replica of it hanging on my wall, seriously though I don't know jack about it.) A computer program also predicted that such an event will occur, it is unspecified how. Some say a rogue planet or meteor willcollide with our planet. There are, however, those who disapprove of the theory. Archeologists say that the Mayan Calendar theory is invalid since another period begins after December 20th 2012. Many also protest to the planet collision theory due to the fact that something as small as the moon can be seen with the naked eye from the earth. Surely something as big as a planet that is on a collision course with ou planet in 2 years would have been detected by telescopes. But enough of this. What do YOU think? Me personally, I think it's just a 50-50 chance. I mean, if it happens then boo-hoo we all die. Can't do anything about that. If not, then life goes and whoever the hell said the world was going to end in 2012 will die from mastubating too much.

The planet earth can be destroyed at any moment. Now people have tried to predict the "End of the World" since the beginning language, the beginning of intelligence, the beginning of cultures.
Awhile back everyone thought that Y2K will happen, well it didn't did it?
The day after tomorrow is kind of like 2012.
If anything it would be a sun burst or a close range super nova that would wipe out the earths magnetic field which keeps out solar radiation and the earth would be literally cooked. In a way 2012 was just ripping of Noah's Ark
I doubt another PLANET will collide with us anytime soon.
It is said that its more likely to be hit by a meteorite then to be killed by a lightning bolt.

the mayan calleneder is broken up into parts, the biggests are the 3 and i think those cover melenium... let me look at something, i saw it on the discovery channel

no... my main point is... does it matter on what date a calendar ends? we all know no matter what the integer n is, another integer n+1 will always exist... same goes with date.

The Mayan Calendar runs in cycles. The end of this cycle is marked with a predictable event--so to find the answer, we must look at the beginning. When did the calendar begin, and what marks that occasion?

Concerning those made up statistics, the reason half of them believe in his shit is because they use retrofitting so that the "prediction" has a hit. I could write a vague ass prediction too, so that 20 years from now some asshole will do most of the work for me and put all the bullshit puzzle pieces together. (I know this is about his predictions stopping at 2012 and not his predictions, but I'll let you in the the prediction secret anyway)
