Thought it was all just bullcrap at first, but now, if you realize it, the number of natural disasters keeps increasing, global temperatures are all fucked up, and yet it's only 2010. Now, i'm actually a little bit worried, in 2 years the world just might fuck us up.

My thoughts exactly. And even if we all die, whats it matter? Its not like anyone will survive the end of the world. It'll be a end to suffering. I just hope that if it does happens I die as quickly and painlessly as possible.

I am honestly ready for death at any time because I think "why be afraid of the inevitable?" I'm not worried about 2012, for me it will just be another year of being happy and surfing FAKKU!. =3

Getting back on topic, I am definitely worried about the end of the world, especially since I have many things which I have yet to achieve in life. However, if mass destruction were to occur, I doubt anyone of us has the ability to stop it. On the other hand, end of the world may refer to someone else apart from destruction, according to some of the articles I have read.

Perhaps we should be more concerned about the environment. If we don't do our bit, no matter how small, then there might come a day where our actions return to haunt us.

yea i believe in it, for those who say theres no way some ancent people could know this how do you explain this, the Mayans had thee most acurate calender to date. so accurate infact it was batter then ours up until the advent of computers. now i dont know about you but do you know the massive amount of mathematical calculations needed to predict that? the fact that we COULD NOT DO IT until we had computers should be proof enouge. and not only that but its not only the Mayans that predicted it, its races ALL OVER THE WORLD. seriously, do some research before you say were all crazy, sure im not about to buy a 50,000 dollar bunker but i have made a few contingency plans, my philosophy is hope for the best, plan for the worst. and thats exactly what im doing.

^ No other ancient culture in the world has stated that the world will end in 2012, a few cults have stated it after we found out that the Mayan calendar ends there though. And no, our calendars were about as exact as the Mayans long before the computer was invented, from what I know the days of a year, length of a day and so on has not been officially changed in the last 40 or so years. What is mesmerizing about the accuracy of the Mayan Calendar is the fact that they did not posses the equipment we needed to calculate this, the equipment being telescopes and shit, not computers.

Personally I believe that the 2012 apocalypse to be complete bullshit, dmostly due to two different reasons:

1. It's superstitious humbug.
2. The Mayan Calendar has ended a few times before* but when the end is coming closer, they have calculated a new one.

* According to Mayan history and legends, now this have not happened in "reality" as these legends refer to a time long before the rise of the Mayans, so practically these calendars never existed, but that wouldn't be the only case where "history" has been purely fiction.

like i said. do your research first. there are multiple instances. from around the world that ahve predicted it. recently there was a 2 or 3 hour long documentary on it and even the Chinese predicted it. ill get you a link to the program if i can find it in torrent form but i rember it was called the secrets behind 2012 or 2012 apocalypse or something and was hosted my lester holt.

Meh. Its bullshit. No one can write forever. Who's to say that they just wanted to end it there like a page in a book or a paragraph?

I quote what was said already about 2 mins into that film: "The mayans seems to be the only ones who pointed specifically at 2012, but other past civilizations have talked about the end of time, the calamity, during the event of celestial events."

Yeah, basically every religion that has ever existed has some sort of "end". But no-one but the Mayans have pointed to 2012, what they have done is to point at similar events that "trigger" the apocalypse as Mayans claim that will happen in 2012. Such as planetary alignment, meteors and the like. These have been proven false, there will be no planetary alignment, we have recorded no meteors headed our way that will even be close to us by then. What we have predicted is that a "Solar Maximum" will happen sometime between late 2012-mid 2013, but seeing as the latest Solar Maximum happened in 2000 (Another date forecast to be the Apocalypse) the chances that the world will end is pretty slim.

I think there will lots of paranoia that will cause people to commit crimes, act stupid and generally be pests. I don't think the world will end though. Honestly, I think the worst thing that will happen will be stuff that people do in response to their fears that something will happen.

I can't speak for the solar storm as that's a bit out of my prediction range.

Almost right, since you are mexican you obiously share some of Mayan blood (not only Aztec), as I do, I´m from Guatemala.

You see, the changes at the end of Mayan calendar are just part of a new cycle in life; as everything in life, things end, and new ones begin. So, Mayans don´t predicted the world destruccion, just the end of the current cycle in world. A new one is going to begin, just that.
