Ullzang, the fact that Jesus was sent to earth was so that God can get a good idea on what was it like to be a human being. It is said that "God's ways are not our ways" which means that his plans, his emotions and his actions are those that a human would not consider. A common misconception is that God made man in his own image, literally. That is not true and only a selfish "man" would see it as, 'God looks just like me!' However, God is invisible and he has not made any physical appearance on earth except by letting his son step foot on earth. Anyways, to be made in God's image is to have a consciousness, thought, thinking process, intuition and an uncanny ability to have perception based on gathered feelings and facts from experience.
God has an unnatural ability to not destroy what he has made. He couldn't bear to destroy Satan and demons either, thus he created an alternate world to place them in (Hell). And when people say, why does God let this happen, why is there cancer, why does hurricanes kill millions of people and the world be hampered by plague and destruction? He does this as a test for us to see how strong our faith is. And many people fall away from God because they believe that their prayers were answered. Perhaps what we pray for usually are selfish things and even if it should be seen as a noble cause, such as saving the life of a loved one, God knows the extent of our lives and when they should end. Our time on this earth is limited and it ends when what we have accomplished is finished. People pray for God to change their circumstance, but God puts circumstance in our lives to change us, so that we become more Christ like. (But some become worse or neutral depending on how and if they know how to respond to circumstance.) We may be forever poor, in pain, in hardship and suffering, but there is room for us to change our spirit inside of us, and to rejoice in those things instead of complain and find blame. Sometimes, there is no blame for events in our lives. To go to hell or to go to heaven, that too is reserved for God to judge, not man.
Simply to believe and follow Christ and become more like him is our ticket into heaven. Mankind loves to make religions out of fundamental beliefs of anything. They love to pervert and distort things that it may better suit their needs. When someone twists the lifestyle of following Christ to suit their needs, they make it a religion. When people twist the truth of God into their own satisfaction and carnal need, they make religion. And men, and women, look how well they rejoice in serving them-self! Jesus came to this world to destroy religion and help people live a life with a personal relationship to God instead of living the dead motions of playing church and following man created rituals to please themselves. There is such vanity in mankind.
And why should children be born with deadly conditions, diseases and mental illness? Perhaps they are put in this world to test the level of compassion we have towards them. To see how far we are willing to go to protect a living breathing human, and love it unconditionally. We were created to love and to teach others to love for one another. Not this fake love, full of emotions, or lust, or chemically triggered attraction falsified by one's own self. Just as one can feel wind and not see it, love heals anything. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (New International Version)
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
How can someone say there is evil in love? Rather should they see a mistrust in love for how easily corruptible man can make it! Mankind will abuse the most simple of beauties and distort it or destroy it.
A very accurate illusion on why Jesus would die for our sins, so that we would go to heaven is the idea that everything has a price, or an equal an opposite reaction. And the progress of our wrong, is to be paid in blood. The ultimate form of love is when a brother sacrifices himself for his brother. That if one should lose life, the other would gain life. This concept is burdened in each of us, even if we should not recognize it. God sent his son, as an infant baby, to experience the pains of being a baby, next a teenager, then young adult, to be tempted and fight against his flesh, and then to become a man and fight against the wills of his body, live a perfect life, and then to die for us because a price for the world's sins, both in the past and the present had to be paid. And even for a father to sacrifice his son for the good of the world is a very powerful form of love and mercy.
(And God may not even have a gender, but simply we call him father because he embodies both the caring of a mother and stern of a father. And Jesus came as a male, because if he had came as a "female prophet" he would have been instantly rejected and killed in that time period.
And some believe in the words of other men. Such as those of science or theoretical existentialists or Thoreau universalism, they find truth through self discovery and natural shall it be that they should satisfy their need of an inner hunger for knowledge or content of never reaching potential. The truth of the matter is that science does not compel one to believe in no God. Rather it glorifies general accepted human knowledge that appears acceptable such as a standard of rules that none would challenge except by experiment or potential delay. Man has a strange ability to want to become like God, thus they pick and choose their talents, gifts or presents revealed to them through research or years of training, to become infatuated in the slightest of thought, abstract mostly from what the normal human would think. This gives science its innocence while man indulges in his/her own arrogance, usually ill willed or vacant in benevolence.
