I had hopes for the first rescue, but when she got ran over I caught on to what was happening, hence my reference to The Time Machine. The second one I saw coming as soon as you heard the damn train coming down, and I was just pissed at that one.

My conjecture is that either Okabe will get smart and go back farther than four hours and try to go after Moeka. I believe the limit for Time Leap was two days, and that certainly puts Okabe within a time when he was face to face with her.

By the way, who the fuck is this FB guy anyway.

I have a theory, actually. It's extremely far fetched and involves Okabe accepting he can do nothing at the moment and resigns himself to a master plan that will take years to do. Punch line is that he hooks up with Moeka after an extensive period and marries/has children with her. He names her, of course, Amane and sends her back into the past to try and help fix things. Of course he was either very vague with her or she is an extremely good actor, because I'm still having some trouble on figuring out on where she seems to think that it's Kurisu who's the spy, but I'm just gonna simplify it and chalk it up to him being unable to tell the truth.

But that would of course mean that that course of action already took place, and now events are beyond normal guesswork as Amane's very presence would disrupt the timeline, now making events unpredictable. Time travel makes my head hurt.

Go back to episode 10, focus on the part the reason why Amane didn't come to the Lab, and the part Certain place he's supposed to "see" her dad.

Okabe must prevent an event that happened in episode 1

The second I saw that little girl running I knew she was going to get pushed in front of the on-coming train. FFFFFFFFFFuck! It's a pre-used theme (The Time Machine) in a time machine story plot, but I like Mayuri so much it's just painful to see her die in new ways.

And why is Okabe running? They want the time machine, also, so by abandoning the lab they'll get it and then where will they be? Hunted down without a time machine as a resource. Prepare some defenses.

The only thing I can think of when given the name Barrel Titor, the fact that Amane's father was supposed to be at the time machine forum meeting that Daru did not end up going to regardless, is that Daru is her father, who was time traveling through the past? Far fetched I know, but that's all I got, mostly because Barrel could be considered a name for someone who looks like one, and Daru is a pretty big guy. No, scratch that, I just came up with another one. John Titor and Barrel Titor are the same man, but from different time lines. That's my second guess.

As for preventing an event, I can only imagine that he must prevent Kurisu from being stabbed, prevent someone from sending her a d-mail, or he must not go all together. My money is on someone sending her the d-mail, which would prevent them from ever meeting, and therefore not making the time machine.

Well, your first guess it right, but the current Daru is your regular "Super Hacker" Itaru Hashida who goes to the same college as Okabe Rintarou, so he's not the John Titor that keeps on saying Okabe is a messiah or another time traveler. About the name "Taru" means barrel in Japanese. -Keep watching the anime to get more progress-

About the 2nd one, you're 50% right. It's a bit too soon to give out the exact answer, but by going back to the first world line, that will save Mayuri, but that will not save Kurisu who's fated to die in that first timeline.

Great, now I'm depresssed about Kurisu. I've got high hopes though. My line of thought for the reason Kurisu lived in this timeline is that Okabe intended to save Mayuri, however Mayiri decided that Okabe would be happier with Kurisu, and sent a d-mail to counter Okabe's and save her from being stabbed. Therefore allowing her to die so she could see her Grandmother.

That seems to be an ending in line with the stupidly popular bittersweet ending that Japan seems to love. My high hopes for this show are still strong, so maybe our Okabe will be able to save both of the girls for a super happy end.

As a side note, who would Daru hook up with. Someone we know in this timeline? Who was that girl he was confessing to?

Is that why Kurisu died in episode 1?

Mindscrewed. In enjoyable way. I really enjoyed it, and I'm glad the plot has now picked up the pace. I must also admit that I liked the whole Kurisu/Okabe banter afterward completing that device. It seemed somehow cliched, but at the same time, I didn't have an actual feeling of watching same cliche again. Hmmm, paradox much?

And the whole scene of young Mayushi and Okabe at the cementary was just one big, fluffy pile of D'AWWWWWWWWW - which drives the nail into the gut every time you see her die horribly. Ouch.

I did feel it was a bit weird that SERN agents were all a bunch of random guys with AK's, while Moeka was dressed like Sam Fisher, although I suppose it was to illustrate how SERN has people literally everywhere.

And you also gotta hand it to Okabe when it comes to Determination. For all the stuff that happens to Mayushi, and yet *still* having strength to go back to the lab and go through everything *again, entirely voluntarily...that really needs a whole new level of not just courage, but commitment.

Can't wait for it. I'm hooked on this full-time.

Lots of explanation in this episode, and epic plot progression. Amane finally explains herself (and at the perfect time as well).

I went back and watched the first episode again out of curiosity since now I know what the time machine looks like...and right before we see Kurisu stabbed to death, you can clearly hear Okabe screaming at around 7:30. What the fuck is that all about?

But hey, they sure did turn around that last bit of depression huh? So as usual, I've got my hopes up.

P.S. If Kurisu wasn't claimed in that waifu game, she would have been mine in round 2 after this. Shit was so dere.

Episode 14 was epic indeed, and I was really blown away by the relevation that Amane was John Titor all along. I thought that this episode was going to continue to be on a depressing note, but the moments with Kurise and Okabe gave me some hope.

And maybe Okabe was screaming before because they entered the wrong world line and Kurise died because of that?
