I was wondering why he never did back-to-back time leaps to give himself extra time, but leave it to "the assistant" to come up with that idea :P

I'm falling more and more in love with Kurisu: "Screw you, future me." and her attempt at a mad scientist laugh was pure MOE!

He never came up with the idea because he never paused to think about it. The man was in a panic for who knows how long (I'll say about 20-30 hours), and without sleep for just that same amount of time. It makes him much more believable as a character. Kurisu came up with it just like that because she was in a calm state, so was able to think it through.

For once, the writers are actually making characters realistic.

[font=verdana][color=green]After the bombshell of episode 12, and the (failed) attempts at saving Mayushii in episode 13, I felt that this episode did well at showing the increasing desperation of Okabe as he struggles to fight against the seemingly inevitable fate of Mayushii. He can't believe that such a thing as 'fate' exists, and one really cannot imagine the pain he's going through as he witnesses Mayushii die time and time again possibly due to his actions in overseeing the creation of the time machine. The scene where Okabe was trapped in the car was fantastic, imho, because his guilt at the situation into which Mayushii will soon be/is placed reduces him to a shadow of the Hououin Kyouma we know and love from earlier episodes. Not to mention from a plot perspective it could've been the end of the possibly countless attempts made by Okabe, which would not have been an unforeseeable plot direction further increasing the tension/emotion in the scene.

It was surely only a matter of time before he started relying upon Kurisu. The interaction between the two (three? ; P ) of them over the course of the episode was really telling as it shows how the situation has (irrevocably) changed Okabe. I'd never made a note of the fact that Okabe had never said her real name before. The close-up of Kurisu before Okabe made his (now-extended?) time-leap was touching as it showed how close Kurisu (at least) views Okabe, and how she values his sincerity in actually calling her by her real name.

Of course, it wouldn't be Steins;Gate if there wasn't a slight dash of comedy/tsundere-Kurisu epicness thrown in as well. +5Hrs Kurisu 1: 0 Normal Kurisu, I think there. Wondering if she's having big problems using chopsticks...

Daru is Suzuha's father?

Huh. I didn't even consider that, but you brought up a good point. Mayuri did say that she felt some kind of relationship between them, and it doesn't necessarily have to be a romantic one. Plus, he does seem to know what he's doing, in general.

Also, throughout episode 15, I kept on feeling like SERN was going to pop up at any moment and kill Daru, but I'm glad that wasn't the case.

Wow. This was a very intense episode, and I loved every minute of it. From finding out that Daru was Suzu's dad, to Suzu getting her time machine fixed and leaving, and the aftermath of her travels, it was an emotional roller coaster. It was really hard to hear that she failed to get the IBN and committed suicide, and it was just as hard to hear that she died of a regular illness when Okabe went back in time and didn't stop her back then. Although, I guess now that Suzuha died/nobody but Okabe remembers her, Mayuri isn't going to die. Now I'm guessing that the gang will go back to focusing on stopping SERN and changing the future, just like Suzuha wanted.

Finally the obvious was revealed, but I never expected Suzuha to die in the end. Glad in the alternate line Okabe went to it was something less macabre than suicide. However, the gang is not out of the woods yet...

This was a good episode. I kind of expected that Daru was Suzuha's father as both Daru and Suzuha had the same hair coloring, Daru was good at repairing the time machine, and because Mayuri kept saying that they looked good together. It sucks that Suzuha died after going back in time. First she died from committing suicide and then it was an illness. I wonder what happens next...

Man, my heart sank as they read her letter, and to top it off, she committed suicide...ugh.

At least when Okabe changed the world lines, her end wasn't nearly as morbid and sad

That's real depressing to learn about Feryis's father, and how responsible she had felt for all those years. I know it didn't show it right off, but perhaps her father is alive in this time line? After all, Okabe didn't realize that Ruka had actually become a girl until a few days after. (He'll have to undo that, so Ruka can go back to being a delicious trap soon)

Secondly, this show also brought to light that if you can be forced to remember a different time line specifically relating to you, you can in fact remember everything from before the time change. It certainly seemed traumatizing though, having 10 years of different memories come at you all at once. I could also speculate that once you remember a different time line, you too gain a 'Reading Steiner' ability. At the end Feryis made mention of her and Okabe being lovers in a different life.

Judging from how Okabe decided to go on about changing the world line... girl-Ruka, NOOOOOOOO

Mm, this episode was indeed hard to watch, and I felt the tears almost coming, especially when Feryis said that Okabe was her prince, and she wanted to cry before everything was undone. I'm assuming that her father is dead now, but you never know.

And yeah, I'm wondering if Ruka will remember the past as well when Okabe goes off to undo that D-Mail, or maybe it's only certain people. I guess we shall see.

And SERN is acting awfully quiet. I'm still feeling uneasy about them...
