I thought I'd share what I've been doing lately with regards to writing for no reason other than it feels good to tell people about it. Work on the next part of Age of Anarchy is under way. I've been working at a snail's pace, but I plan on speeding up. I just got 500 words done today, and I hope to get at least that much done every day from here on out. After this leg of the overarching story is done, I've got one more part to tackle, and then this crazy thing that's been stewing in my head for years that I thought I'd never accomplish will be done. I can't say it's turned out as epic as I imagined it would in my head, but I suppose I can't complain. I've learned a lot so far from my work on it. I don't regret a thing. Least of all, I don't regret deciding to post it on these forums and getting to know all of you as a result. It's been awesome, and I can't wait to see what the future brings.
So, what've you guys been up to? Oh, and merry Christmas or whatever holiday you celebrate. Unless you detest holidays and happiness in general. In that case, down with Santa Claus! I hope he burns in hell.
That's really good news, d. It brings me joy to hear that things are progressing well for you, and further towards that ultimate project you've mentioned in the past. I really regret that I never took the chance to read through Age of Anarchy, or its second arc, or even The Tempest like I wanted. I always run into the same issue that kept me from reading the longer more epic novels by classical authors which I am cursed with. That curse is reading word-for-word. It's good for picking up most little mistakes, but also causes me to take forever to read so I usually don't find the motivation to take the time. A real shame, obviously. A good thing from this, however, is that it enables me to keep a more keen eye for great one-shots.
So, if I may transition into something because of that. It brings me a special pleasure to be able to adequately judge your works for this winter contest. So, for all those still working on a entry, please be aware that you have 5 more days before the deadline. I look forward to seeing whatever entries that have yet to be completed.
