I'm pretty sure Xenon is already judge material. I haven't read any of Mibru's reviews =[, but I can believe! You can do it Mibu~

And, I think I understand what you're saying about his style of reviewing. It's part of the reason why I said I didn't enjoy his format. His standard seems a bit inflexible(?). He's a bit hard to connect with since he doesn't seem to revisit the threads he reviewed often to drop a 'no problem' etc. But, I think he does a good job nonetheless.

Atmosphere in the forum is too thick for High~ ahaha.

You havent seen any because I wrote none. Or at least, none I can remember. They're usually scattered through my posts.

I myself kinda thought that while reviewing, rather than pointing things which is good or bad. It's much better to tell what we honestly think...if there's no bad thing just say none. I think Xenon and Jerry also adapt those kind of ways too~

Don't worry, I can somehow cope with that, it's just I don't feel too comfortable when everyone's being too competitive and forgot their early purpose of having fun on their endeavor~

Maybe some people wrote without the intention of having fun! Pure fire of competition and victory drove them to write their story! What about those?

Based on the entries, this can safely be my review to a lot of them.

Well, it's true though. I can't really sit down and read works that I think have no message at all. I mean things that are written just for the sake of being read. I can't like those... I need something that conveys to me a part of the author, what did s/he feel when the piece was being written, a kind of ideal or vision.

Yup that's the similar thing I told Rise when I was being interviewed for a judge position, to me meanings conveyed are more important than simply writing things just to be pleasing to the eyes. Doesn't matter if the story's simple, it'll make me smile when there's emotion put into it~

And typo/grammar criticism. How I hate those. As long as the message is clear there should be no problem at all. Sure those mistakes need correction, but if that affects the evaluation whether something is good or bad, then I kindly pass.

Again I have to agreed with you on that one, I don't really care about the grammar/typo if at least I could understand the message. This is not English class for goodness sake~

It kind of bugs me why the judges are divided into specializations : Plot, Writing Structure / Grammar, and Poetry. Why not choose three people with all-rounder capabilities instead?

Furthermore I'd say the judges should have similar range of capabilities as an author and reviewer, and the most important thing is diverse set of personalities, when really different minds could work together we could conclude that their judgement is at the optimal objectivity

And scoring. How do I tag numbers on something which is basically "I enjoyed it" or "I didn't"? All these things irk the hell outta me, people slapping numbers on randomest things. ._.

Conclusion: I suck as a judge.

Just rate whatever according to your tastes and honest feelings...I think the most important thing is to be flexible and staying true to what you're committed too~

That's exactly why I make a terrible judge. Whatever number I put, I know it's a number I pull outta my ass.

Then that doesn't make me any better candidate than you, as I don't really like compromises. My views are pretty weird so if other judges can't control their temperament I'm the one most likely to start a fight between them lol, that would be interesting~
