Regarding the Ghost team, is being 100% human worth anything over 100% youkai? I haven't noticed a big difference in the game in trying to be both sides of the spectrum. Youmu is only half human so in the Ghost team's case it will never be above 50% human. Is that a disadvantage at all?
.. I'm sorry that I cannot seem to understand the question. Would you mind to rephrase it into sentences that even a ditzy ghost could understand ?

Thats funny. Modesty isnt worth 1,000,000,000 points. The mindset (italics) is much more understandable. After losing and continuing it feels like all the pressure is off and its just messing around.
I wasn't really being modest. It's just that I don't consider myself an experienced player, yet. Compared to fellow Touhou fanatics that I know, I am still an aspiring-player. Excluding PC-98 games, the only game I can't 1cc up until now is SA, mainly because I dislike the mechanic = excuse. The time when I don't use excuse anymore is the time when I can consider myself a better player.
Gotta say that I was late to enter Touhou danmaku world. I am still trying my best to catch up though, by any available measures. 10 Trials of Shoutoku was a good excuse for me to improve my danmaku skill.
#1 improving myself
#2 having fun with fellow members
#3 competition, were my goals.

Final Fantasy too?
I've only played and finished FF 4 and FF Tactic in my entire life, and the latter isn't really memorable.
Actually, I dislike FF series in general. No matter how much I've been trying to suggest myself to like it, I just couldn't bring myself to like the gameplay. Sure they may have good stories, but I am not gonna play a game just because I love to read novel. Story is important for a game, but not all.
That being said, I still respect people who like FF. Fanboy/girl-ing can be quite aggravating at times, but it's tolerable.

Haven't played Sengoku Rance (or several other VN's) yet. The strategy has to be the entire focus, Risk/Empire/Civilization, or a sufficently large part of the game that it is thoroughly thought out and covered by developers. It could also be inherent in the game. So if strategy is involved at all in the game it better be the rice or meat in the meal.
Then you may like Sengoku Rance. Consider that a personal suggestion/recommendation from me.
Sengoku Rance is still a story-oriented VN (rice). But the strategy (meat) still tastes good, despite not being the main focus of a VN in general. If you ever need help (gameplay-wise, strategy, story-wise), feel free to ask me as I'm very willing to help fellow/future Alicesoft fan.
