They are cute when they are murderous. Is the word you are looking for "harmless"? The font look good on there. The text could be bigger and have some drop shadow or transparency or cool looking stuff.

Argh, well - not sure how to word it best, so apologies!

I was ultimately unable to complete the normal run, because for some reason,I had mistaken the deadline and did not realize it until it was too late to complete the assigned cards on time.

It's unbecoming of me to join an event and not see to it till the end, so I'll look forward to performing better in whatever event comes next.

and finally, congrats to everyone who completed it!

Normal mode pays more with that higher starting value and maximum value of point items. But again, it more likely because you've grown better.
And why yes, the event is a good motivation and excuse to boot the game and play it seriously. Motivating the participants to do better than he/she did yesterday -- of course without forgetting to have fun and joy while playing the game.

Told you that my aim when playing Touhou is simply to survive and clear the game. Anything that doesn't harm my purpose is not considered mistakes.



I ever said that MariAli is a super-focused team, and that 'super' ain't an exaggeration. Yes, they are supposed to be that strong. While it's also widespread, Marisa's attack deals (much) more damage than Sakuya's, it's even comparable to Youmu's attack. Magician team's specialty is to kill before get killed, and they utilize that specialty of theirs perfectly.



It's just for fulfilling the challenge given to them. Not because they loved it or anything along that line. Their success came from training, which is why I said that I still need a long time to go. For the question, no. I don't think it's possible for humans to calculate the distance between pixels without zooming the focus in.

Use white stroke for the letters. Add some effects (example) if you think it blends well with the background image and text.

I can do stuff with the pictures size, which isn't too hard, and it won't ruin the proportions of the picture itself. That being said, I was more aiming to get your opinion on the words. Is the position good? And the style of the words, other than the fact I used the Black Asylum font.

Black Asylum looks nice there.
About positioning, I'd rather go with BiBi's idea. Color is like what I said, a mere black isn't proper to be used there considering how colorful the background image is. At the very least, I suggest you to use color gradient.

The font used was lazy monk. Should I use black asylum then?



The colors in "come if" are from Nue's wing, "you want" are Koishi's shirt collar, and "to die" is Flan's hat. I couldn't decide on any particular color or gradient to fill the text with so I picked that. White strokes and anything white do not show that well or even at all in a mostly white background. I will post a bunch of different text color schemes. I'm open to suggestions too.

In the case of an imaginary world I would leave it imaginary. Picture if just Sanae or Suwako actually existed. Current society would not be able to handle the thought that a real God is sitting "just over there". Part of what makes imagination so powerful is that its not bounded by Earth laws/customs.



This game is totally based on world war 2. Just, more modern and pretty looking. "Gamerica" made me facepalm. Both of you have your own evils but since Stalin lives longer I'm taking preference to that.


Yes. Its funny because I read the story about Reimu not smiling at all yesterday. Speaking of doujin, when Mokou fed Kaguya to Flan I almost broke a rib laughing. (SDM party no one went to).

I rather like Koishi's gradient there, but Nue and flan's colour comes off as a bit too similar. If you're going for the wings, it would be a tad unbalanced to leave out her blue one.

Also, while taking colours from different parts of the characters might turn out nicely, it might not come off with the best sense of cohesion.

Maybe try one with their respective hair colours? Not sure how well that would work.

After playing with a bunch of different colors I made these. The black border is just to show they are incomplete. The following is all the text color mixes I played with. The links have those names so that it matches the file names I have.

"Tenth" will be hair colors. Using both of Nue's wings won't be too much different from either one but I'll give it a shot.


The font is black asylum.
"Second" is a black to red gradient going through several hues.
"Third" is black to red gradient without hues.
"Fourth" is black to red gradient going through hues with a burn layer effect
"Fifth" same as "fourth" but with a different set of hues
"Sixth" solid color of Koishi's floating eye
"Seventh" is a random diffraction gradient
"Eigth" uses Nue's blue wing instead of her red one. Other than that it is the same as the first picture I posted (named "first")
"Ninth" uses the eyes of everyone and has the eyes semi-transparent behind the text. Just opaque enough to be visible and complement the text. It also has a highlight and drop shadow effect on the text. (GIMP calls it "Xach effect").

I like the fifth, seventh, and ninth images.
I really like the effect you did in the ninth, and the gradient coloring of the fifth... Do you think it'd be possible to do both? The gradient coloring of the fifth with the effects of the ninth?
