True true. Have you ever noticed how there is no over-kill character in any of the Touhou games? In numerous other types of games you can get an unlockable item/character that is stupidly powerful and makes the game child's play. Touhou doesnt have anything like that. Continuing with child's play, making Flan playable would be the closest thing to it but I can't imagine that being very amusing.

The PC and PS3 games are on perpetual hold until I get a PS3 and PC I feel happy with. Those hack-n-slash games are a good way to relieve lots of stress. Now if only people can photoshop faces onto in-game beasts.

The VN's are also on partial hold because this laptop is running out of hard drive space (secondary reason). And because I like to drown in VN's. That is I like to focus all my waking hours on a VN so the story remains fresh in my mind and I finish it in a couple days. It can lead to very very mild depression when playing Clannad though, but the experience is really good.

In my opinion, Flan is not suitable to represent over-kill character for danmaku-play, I'd rather use her for street brawl. If you want overpowered character, in both danmaku or brawl, then Watatsuki no Yorihime is your only solution. Well, Reimu herself is actually not as strong as the fanworks usually implied, so it's kinda impossible to measure how strong someone needs to be in order to become an overpowered character, gameplay-wise/danmaku/spell card rule.

MoF's 3-OP-lasers Marisa is also a candidate, if you count glitch.



That depends on the character. But normally, I don't like comedy/cute stuffs. I am more into solid tragic story and solid lovable characters. Story that is not way off from the original content, and doesn't make me go "that doesn't make sense", is preferred.



Just my 2 cent, a monotonous hack 'n slash will more likely add fuel to your fire instead of allowing you to relieve stress.

There are so many people who like Clannad, huh.

Fuel without oxidant is meaningless. Depends on how you see it though. General frustration could be relieved by just getting to cause some virtual destruction but directed irritation could just be left to boil.

Take it from someone who has played three VN's, Clannad is great, the female lead is The other two being Katawa Shoujo and Monstergirl Quest [size=10](which should not even count as a VN compared to the others).[/h] As long as the story is engaging it doesnt have to be as deep as the Mariana Trench.

Her defeat in Omoito is only a plot, you cannot/mustn't use it (or fanon materials in general) to measure one's power. Why yes, you wouldn't want to meet Yuuka in a dark alley, though to be more precise, you wouldn't want to meet her anywhere. The same case like in Yukari's, I honestly don't know exactly how strong Yuuka is. But if you're still curious, then how about a short trip to Akyuu's writing ? As the saying goes "beware of the seemingly-harmless ones".

I only find joy in seeing my victims' faces that are colored with various kind of despairs. Most of Hack 'n slash game failed to give me such pleasure due to the monotonous scream, pattern, and torture.

Rant aside, it's still an above-average show. Good adaptation is as rare as money in Hakurei Shrine's Donation Box after all.

It was, and still is, difficult for me to get a hang of the game. Everything revolves around the beat of the music, but it's so very difficult to get it spot on. The most difficult part, was using about 3 hours to figure out how to actually do the game, since I can't read Japanese. lol. ^^

Overall, I love the game. It's funny when I play it, and it is a good way for me to just have some fun. Especially trying to dodge the knives with Meiling. It's hilarious. lol. ^^

The ones that seem harmless are actually super strong. Hmmm. Where is Cirno in that?

Few games can provide that kind of satisfaction unless you are on multiplayer. Its a great thing to see when it does happen though.





The drama is definitely forced at times (Kyou/Ryou). I'm not done with the After Story anime yet (have most of the game done though) but the anime has been very good, toilet seat. The donation box would get more if it was left in the outside world, toilet seat. A couple of anime this season are based on VN's that look promising, toilet seat. Koichoco and Imouto for example, toilet seat.

Sunohara aside, read The End of the Maiden's Illusion and Through the Wind Cries last night. Both were good, but Through the Wind Cries was better. It makes me want to play MoF. The rest of that story needs to be published.

Besides, be it 2D or not, I don't have the right to measure and compare how tragic is 'this' and 'that'. That's just distasteful.

Hm, I have yet to download any anime this season. I've only set my eyes on MuvLuv as I don't watch/read enough anime/mango to know the others. Also, from the threads you linked me to, both seem to be .. ecchi and flooded with fanservices ? I can never like anything that belongs in that kind of line. But if you're still gonna watch it, then I am looking forward to your reviews for either or both, it might change my perception.

Well agreed with Ushio, by far one of the most interesting character I came across in the anime. And what kind of makes me relate to Tomoya was because I used to have a pathetic life and unable to stand up by myself too, so yeah I can somehow see myself in him~

Hmm... I don't think that's the case for all of them. I think you have to get at least 50 points in one of the stages to unlock more games. The thing catching me right now, is figuring out what the condition is to unlock Remi's Boss game, and Flan-chan's Boss game, along with the 2 other Extra games that I don't know who they belong too.
