"Stories in Touhou are rarely explicitly mentioned in-game". In that case wouldn't an animation be better served to incorporate some of the manga and written works into the story? In hindsight the Moriya storyline would be a good animation candidate. It would take forever to cover though.
Those details in bullets from MoP can be added to a good CG.

It's not an easy task, but not really impossible; as properly executed by one of my forever favorites, Full Metal Alchemist.

Also answering your question on the wall: Unfortunately, I have yet to hear any specific updates for the sequel. Please notify us more updates in case you find more about its continuation since you have the advantages, if you catch my drift. Let's just hope it'll meet a good conclusion, simply because it deserves one.

Jenni's reward is the answer to the quesiton. Marisa's wings is Jenni folded into wings. Marisa doesnt use them but planned to in case her broom died. Now her wings just waste away staring at a box. They were talkative wings anyways so the quiet is nice.

What kind of introduction anime/mango are you referring to though? If you're thinking that Touhou must have such things to introduce itself properly to attract more viewers, then I have to disagree. If what you suggested exist, then there would be less reasons to play the games, which is automatically killing one of Touhou's identities in my opinion.
