That's why mods exist It should be their job to warn or ban users like that. Also, insulting and trolling is against the rules, is it not? A possible ban should be the only worry they need.

Also, what's wrong with any different or "wrong" opinions? I rather read those opinions, than see people not responding to a topic at all because they fear they're gonna get de-rep to hell and back because they disagree or hate something.

Well I guess I'm back for today I and I feel I should say this... personally I don't want to get rid of the rep system entirely, but what I do propose, which might have already been said, that we should only take away the -rep function since that's where most of the controversy comes from and only leave the +rep function since it can still be put into good use.

But people can still abuse the rep system. Also, who wants salt without pepper? A karma system where you can only give positive shit is like an artist asking for critique, but saying "NO NEGATIVE SHIT, SON".

I don't see the need for reputation, honestly. Recognition can be given in other ways, and the truly "great" users can easily be spotted.

Now that rep has been abolished and hopefully permanently, now I have no fear of being myself. I tell you lots of my replies has been hinder due to the fear that some back stabbing gayturds -reps me.

I find this amazingly sad. It's not a problem with the rep system that you're afraid to be you, it's a problem with you. Nobody should ever be afraid the be themselves. Being cautious or refraining from bad choices is one thing but to truly not say what you feel you should say just because someone will disagree with you is like handing over control of your opinions.

Also I agree with Rbz, whatever causes the least drama is the best (so long as it's not that there's no drama because nobody is active).

meh, not really up to you to judge though. I mean you and I are probably some of the best examples of people who have seen real rep slides due to saying what we want to... I don't think either of us can judge others for their value system.

After re-reading through this thread, I don't really feel like a complete dick anymore. Too many whiny assholes about their rep, which wasn't even the main point of this thread. The point was to bring to light how bitchy FAKKU has been getting lately(see a connection now?)

Frankly, the complete abolishment of rep would fix part of the problem.

At first I was a bit hestitant on the removal of the rep system, but this entire week has been without bitching about rep and stuff.
