How is it a way to control people's emotion and behavior? If you are talking about RELIGION, then I can see where you are coming from, but I think God doesn't influence or even controls ANYTHING in this universe anymore! God just sits and watches creation evolve and change. The only thing God can do at this time, I believe, is create something. What? I don't know.


Well, what if we die and find out there IS a God (and/or a Devil)? What then? I think it would be too late to say "I told you so".

here's a hint: the idea of god, that you have, came from the bible and no where esle. If ya hadn't read the bible or heard it somewhere - you wouldn't been searchin' for his image.

I was thinking about something the other day.
If people say "Oh, there's no God, if there was, how come he let's things like an earthquake happen?"
Then I thought, "He's probably saying, 'Hey, I told you there were people that needed help through a large network of information channels, you could be in Haiti the next day because of a flying giant metal tube with wings, but you decided it's better to sit there and look at Japanese porn all day.'"
The basis is that people don't see that they could be that person that could make the situation a lot less worse than it is, but they don't because they're to lazy not believing or generally being selfish. By the way, he invented karate to help folks defend themselves against murderers and thugs. Just think, for every bad thing and misfortune that may just happen to someone, there is a solution or way to prevent them. Everything always starts out as an idea that came from somewhere. Not that we always need the help, sometimes we need a little nudge.

I don't know if god exist or not I'm just going to live my life if there is god then hopfully he'll let me in if there isn't then thats to bad.

I was introduced to the idea of God by my parents, then by the Catholic church.
I do believe my idea of God is Greek, as Epicurus had said that God(s) does not affiliate itself with us.

Even if I was introduced to God by the Bible, that doesn't mean I have to follow it.

And the whole "heaven" question was just to argue against Longevity.



Hmm...can't find a response to that at the moment.
God might exist, but heaven and hell might not. He might have created us, but there might not be a place for us to go after we die. Again, a possibility.

I don't have evidence of Gods existence, and I doubt you have evidence that God does not exist. How can you make that assumption?

Who says I have to be a christian to believe in a God? Can God not be a creator? I don't think as God as a savior, if that's what you mean.

oh, then i'll say it another way:

The Idea of God (his Image, his Singleness, his Personality, his Compubiquity, his Omnipotentness, his Creativity, his Remoteness) came from the Bible.
And it doesn't matter from where you heard or read about it.

Only in the bible his Original story is written. So the Bible is the only Authentic Source ("Clean Data").

Its' creator(s) writed it like a one whole idea (whith Faith, Commandments, Prayer, Heaven, Sins, Hell and other shit that people are not fond hearing about). So you can't just throw away what you don't like and leave what you want.
It's meaning/purpose is to be comprehended wholely

The Big Bang Theory needs an origination. It only states how the Universe started (as a single point), but that would mean that single point always existed. So, where did that single point come from?

God is omnipotent. The bible (and this goes for almost all religions that believe in God/Jesus/Yahweh/etc.) say that God is loving and is just. If God is just and loving, then God is not omnipotent. If God is omnipotent, then God is not loving or just. God can act in way that can be just and loving, as well as UNLOVING, and UNJUST, but he is not simply JUST and LOVING. If God acts in an unloving and unjust way, then God has invalidated himself as a Just and Loving God.

Do you see the problem?

I had heart surgery when i was two, the surgery had a success rate at the time of just 41 percent, I also had the surgery as an emergency surgery(look up tetrallogy of fallot)

Well, if the city hadn't wasted its levee money on city beautification for mardi gras the year before(I used to live in new orleans, they didn't use the money alloted to them and instead, blamed bush and fema after the fact) maybe those levees would have held, Also for those that died? In short, no, I have not read the WHOLE Bible. I have yet to reach the end of the page, but I'm getting there.

Alright, well, as many believe Jesus died for our sins, then why are we still judged for these sins we were washed of when Jesus died? Maybe you could educate me on this.

Also, ironically, the Christ Story is the most ANTI-RELIGIOUS statement one could make. He went against the rules of his religion (Judaism) that he was born under in order to find God BY HIMSELF! He had no priests! There was no Church, no criteria to follow but what he came to know! Did he not stop a crowd of men from stoning a women, a rule written by another man of God, Moses? Did he not violate the Sabbath, something God has imposed?
Yes, I understand he was the "Son of God", and that Jesus is also God himself. If this holds true, then he was telling humanity NOT TO FOLLOW RELIGION! He was telling them to find him for yourself and by yourself! He gives us the great example of living the virtuous life!
I believe that modern-day Christianity built a religion around his life, something God didn't want.

As far as salvation goes, anyone who says that they hold true to God is saved. What about Hitler? He thought he was on a quest, given orders by God. The crusades had the similar effect. Muslim extremists also believe that they are men from God. For all the atrocities, violations of morality and causes of death, are they to saved?

And what about Atheists and those who don't know about any God, but do good things and live a virtuous life? Are they to be sent to Hell? Have they not live the same example like that of Jesus?

Animals and plants don't know about god. Animals eat each other. Plants can't do commandments. Heaven and hell don't exist for them.

If I were to just read the Bible, it would not tell me about those left behind and what explanation there is that left gaps. Expanding beyond the Bible is better, I mean, that is what the modern belief has done.

To prove god is not my goal. I already motivated his existence with commandments.
