This is something that's ran through my head before (I have a LOT of spare time,) and I've came up with a few things on that issue, most of them like what others have said.

Another reason I think it would be bad, it would be fucked up for the robots as well, I know some of you might think "HUURRR BUT ITZ A FUKKEN ROBOT!!!"...
but still I highly doubt any machine no matter how advcanced will ever know human emotions... but what if the robot became attached to its "master" but one day the master just died, I cant even begin to comprehend how ANY machine can understand the feeling of loss for someone it cared about...

I agree with you tho, if the robot somehow lost all it's memory, or the human dies and leaves the robot sad, then it would hurt for both of them. So it probably would not be a good idea.
