((OOC: I'm not sure what to write ... haven't posted for a week because, frankly, there's nothing to post as virtually nobody else has posted for a while.))

Ling's phone began to vibrate as a new text message appeared. "Quiet isn't it?" was all it read. The number was unknown to any member of the team. Immediately following the text message a soft tapping came from the door. The knock was familiar, it was Schanze, the so called mad scientist of the faction knocking first 6 notes from the adagio of Beethoven's 9th. He was always a curious kind of person, outspoken, arrogant, clearly intelligent yet lacking in most aspects of common sense, like not knocking on your sniper's door during a critical mission. Obviously his short attention span got the better of him as strange chemical smells leaked through the door and a but of quiet laughter could be heard on the other side of the door.

"Let me in, I've got news from Jon, you might want to hear this" he said.

(outside of the plot, things have calmed down some for me and I can GM again)

A recognisable knock was heard from the door. I sigh as I lifted myself up from the floor. Opening the door, I peek out and glance at Schanze before opening the door completely.

"Come in"

I gesture him to take a seat in the living room.

Schanze, who was already fidgeting with a few strange vials quickly put them into his coat and walked into the room. Once he entered he promptly took a seat on the floor and produced a small bag of chips from his jacket. "want one?" He offered, but before Ling could even respond he then said, "right, right, the message..." He paused a moment, did everyone bring their masks gas masks?"

I pause for a moment to the question and then head to my guitar case. Reaching through my case, I produce an S-10 gas mask, the same kind used by Britsh special forces and look to Schanze, "Will this do?"

"oh you won't be needing it." Schanze said, "they will", he gestured towards the heliport. "Jon, in all his enigmatic charm asked me to assist, but only if you guys wouldn't die from it." He paused again, "there's more" he added.

Lex and Eden moved on deeper into the heart of the building where the security room is as quietly as possible all the while keeping his senses sharp looking out for any guards. All seemed well until they reached the corridor that leads to the security room.

Lex saw two guards standing in front of the door. Both of them hid behind a pot plant as Lex signaled for Eden to come closer and whispered to her,

"You take the one on the right. On my signal"

I pull out my Glock and whisper to Lex.

"You know that this won't be silent, right? And we're going to bring hell down on our asses.", Eden said as she set her Denel down to get a better shot.

Schanze took a deep breath, produced a test-tube from inside of his jacket and began tapping it's side with his finger. "15 minutes exposure is fatal and I may have placed some dispensers upwind from the heliport, under the heliport and in the vending machines around the heliport that may go off in..." He paused as he glanced at his watch, "say, 20 minutes, it's colorless and odorless so they won't know about it, hence I'm telling you to tell them. I'm here to watch" reaching inside his jacket again, this time to the opposite breast pocket he pulled out a pair out expensive binoculars, a small notepad, a stopwatch and a pen. "If the team dies that's on you, I warned you fair and square and even was nice enough to give you time to complete your little mission if you hurry. I'd rather not use them as my guinea pigs, the heliport personnel will do fine for that."

I drop my mask back into the case and I pause for a moment. I don't like this, I don't like being given such a responsibility. .. . I guess it can't be helped. I shake myself from my train of thought and send a text the Lex and Mira

"We have a deadline, complete your objectives in the next 20 minutes or risk losing your life, don't bother with avoiding patrols and kill whoever obstructs you. To put it simply, Jon has gotten tired of waiting for us. God speed.

I look out through the window and sigh, "I should have never volunteered. . ."

In a conversational tone that didn't even hold a note of concern Schanze asked Ling if anyone tried the "super-soldier" yet excitedly talking about his genius for having created it. He added that it would kill two birds with one stone if everyone tried it now, at least if one person did. He tested it on "normal people", buy the assault teams were, in his words, "exemplary, fine specimens of human anatomy, physiology or mental skill, each being unique from any of his previous test subjects."

I turn gto Schanze, "As far as I know, nobody hass used the serum and I really hope we won't need to." I turn and look back out the window, staing down at the compound. "God knows what would possibly happen that would force us to use such a thing."

Personally, I didn't like the serum, it almost seems like cheating to me. A soldier's skill should be made by his own refinement through vigorous training, discipline and mental willpower. Such a serum makes all of that unnecessary, almost pointless.

I shake my head, ridding away such thoughts so that they should never surface in frront of others.

Lex was stumped when he heard Eden.

"......You didn't bring your silencer with you....?" Lex asked in a whisper.

"Nope. I didn't think I'd need it. I thought all the shooting would happen after we screwed with the hornet's nest.", Eden said as quietly as she could. "But I hardly think that that will matter either way. Once we do what we were planning on doing, there was going to be hell sent on our asses anyways. This just gives us less time to complete the mission."

I laughed a bit to myself when I saw Eden stuck in the vent. After the quick laugh, i scanned the area. Nothing new. A few minutes pass, and then I notice two guards on the floor Lex and Eden were sneaking on. Well, one of them anyways. I take my cell and quickly text, "2 guards on ur floor. I think I can get one closest to window. confirm kill or no?" After sending it, i lay the phone near the window's edge and prepare to aim. "hope they reply back quickly..." I say as I wait.

Schanze leaned back against the window frame and sighed anxiously, the way a child would while impatiently waiting for a ride. Glancing at his watch he looked toward Ling, "15 minutes now, then it's hemotoxin time. Longest 5 minutes of my life, hopefully the next 15 don't pass so slowly." He pureed trough his binoculars again, then looked at his watch yet again. He had a child-like frown on his face, an almost pouting kind of expression. Patience was a virtue that was totally alien to the man. Glancing back at his watch he furrowed his brow and said under his breath, " 'give then ample time Schanze' he says, 'be patient he says' fucking author... Doesn't he know how boring it is waiting for them down there? If it wasn't for his damn lab I'd have already stopped pouting up with this stupid bullshit" he then looked back at his watch with another impatient sigh.

I stare out the window out to the compound. "I hope they'll make it out on time" was what I thought to myself but feelings of doubt and uncertainty took over. I sigh and walk away from the window, "5 minutes. . . No way they'll make it in 5 minutes. Not the way they're going now, that is" I think to myself as I walk into the kitchen for absolutely no reason. "I'll spend these last minutes doing nothing" I thought to myself as I walked around the flat at a slow pace.

Eden stared at Lex annoyingly. "Are you going to give the signal to shoot, or are we just going to sit here with our thumbs up our asses?", Eden said with a painful expression on her face.

"*Sigh* I was saving this for escape but I guess I'll have to use one. I'll get you later for screwing up, Eden." Lex took out a stun grenade as he complained in a whisper.

"As soon as it goes off, get close and finish them off. Then we'll breach the door on my mark."

Lex threw the stun grenade and it landed at the feet of one of the guards. One of the guard looked down on it."Huh? Oh SH--" *Boom* a small exploding sound went off, just barely audible from their distance.

Lex took out his knife and slit the throat of the nearest guard.

After the grenade went off, Eden bum rushed the other guard, slamming him against the wall, crushing his wind pipe.

"A stun grenade? Where did you get something like that?", Eden said as she let the man drop to the floor, squirming for breath.
