Kahori startles awake from Christine patting her head.
"Uwah!", Kahori yawns and stretches in the chair. As Kahori stretches, she takes note of the candy bars near where she had her head. "Are these chocolate bars? I've never had chocolate before!", Kahori says as she takes the bar, liquefied, opens it up and slurps up the chocolate inside of the package.
As soon as Kahori finishes the bar, she stands straight up from where she was sitting. She couldn't keep a single thought inside of her head, the sugar pushing her energy to the limits, needing some sort of outlet.
Kahori's rapid movement startled Cliff who was mid-way into trying to convince Christine that she didn't need to guard the door. "U-Uh, Christine! I... uh, need help over here!" Cliff said to Christine who was walking away from the two of them. After catching Christine's attention, got up from his seat and walked over to Kahori. Cliff bent down to talk to her, and asked "Hey Kahori, what do you normally eat? Especially since you've never had chocolate?"
Kahori speaks so fast that even she wasn't able to comprehend what she said. It came out like this, "I paper always nothing much but chocolate had nothing before always books."
After saying that quick snippet, Kahori tries to dash out of the door leading onto the outside deck of the ship, not caring for what was out there or what wasn't out there.
As soon as Kahori tries to run, she slips and slams into the floor. Because of that, Kahori is now unconscious for a little while, also due to the sugar crash.
Christine rushed at Kahori when she heard noise behind her. "...Cliff, this girl, what's wrong with her? She trying to escape? " Christine tried to wake Kahori, but looks like she unconscious now. Christine took off her jacket and wrapped it on Kahori. "It will be fine. " Christine treated Kahori like her younger sister. "...It's getting colder here. "
Cliff was relieved to see Christine turn back even if it was to save Kahori from any kind of madness that she was up to. At the very least, Christine has stopped trying to guard the end of the dining hall. Cliff was afraid that with her there, she would fire a shot out of panic at one point, and from there, things would get endlessly worse.
Deciding to call out to Christine Cliff said, "Hey, why don't you bring her over here to rest?" he said point to a set of chairs next to him, which were the same Christine turned down last time.
Christine nodded and lifted Kahori whom still unconscious at the floor and carrying her to the chair. "Poor girl... " Christine put her at the chair while wiping down her sweat. No, I can't rest now. Things still out of control in here...
As Christine put Kahori down onto the chair Cliff noticed that that Christine was still standing, "Why don't you rest? Soon, the other group will be back, and they'll need us-" Cliff stopped to think as he remembered his current condition, "Well, they'll at least need you in top form," Cliff said attempting to convince Christine. Finally, we can rest with things under control...
"I... fine. " Christine sat down at nearest chair and put her handgun back.
Meanwhile, back at the bridge, "Ayane Shirayuki, anyway. We should make sure that those zombies don't get in this place. Or else we won't be able to get the ship to Japan! Ayane exhaled.
"Your right...Ayane. My name is Kristopher. Kris for short," says Kris. He's not done questioning her, but she had a point. They needed to get this room secured before any more of them came in. This room is their top priority. "We have other survivors that we need to move here, but we cannot leave this room undefended." said Kris, he then proceeds to thinking for a moment. He might be able to make it by himself if he uses his suit, but if he runs into trouble while he's solo, it could be dangerous. But with a girl with little experience and Sophia in her current state there are no other option. "Satoru. You stay here. I'll get the other and meet you back here." he said looking to that gun Ayane mentioned earlier.
Picking it up he handed it Ayane. "If we are going to make it out of this we all have to fight," he says waiting for her to take the gun. He had enough weapons on him, and something that that would slow him down even more.
Ayane brings her hand forth and retrieves her weapon with a nod, "That's a fact known to me already, mister!"
After she took it, he turned to the door. "Lock down and avoid contact with the undead if you can. If something happens use the speakers to signal us." Kris said stepping out of the room. Despite his professional tone Kris is worried about the others.
After Kris left, Ayane closed the door and locked it immediately.
Sophia staggered a little. The battle was over, and they survived. She gave an analytical look with her eyes around the surroundings. Ah, she's back into the control room again. Good, now she can try to rest properly. Kris already went out to pick up the others, so she doesn't need to worry about going to the dining hall with her current state.
Still with weakened state and a pale face, Sophia walks to a wall devoid of doors or windows. As she leans onto the cold metallic wall, she realizes that her uniform is already soaked wet. She'll get a cold if she sleeps with it, "... Bothersome...", she mumbled faintly. Sophia opened her backpack and pulled out one of her white gowns. Perhaps it is not really suitable for the current situation, but she pays no heed to it. Putting her bag and SILVANUS beside herself, Sophia begins to undress.
Satoru politely turns away from her when Sophia began to change and threw his suit coat over his back. "You'll catch a cold if you aren't careful," This scene was surprisingly similar to his last girlfriend when she had come in from the rain, be he forced that unpleasant memory from his head. She had died that night, drug overdose.
Sophia doesn't pay attention to what Satoru said. She continued to take off her uniform except for her underwear. As she begins to wear her white gown, her mind traveled back to her distant past. While she was still an young orphan, she had sold her body several times in order to survive in the harsh world. Granted, she didn't need to do so when the Calminas adopted her. After they died, Aeons Syndicate recruited her. Even as a criminal syndicate, Aeons never put her into such nightmares again. They put a great deal of respect towards their female members, especially the High Priestess of Aeons; the one who entrusted Sophia with SILVANUS.
Satoru silently walked over and picked up his coat, his attempted gesture of kindness clearly unwanted. Bitch, he thought to himself. Was she expecting to get through this crisis alone? Even he didn't expect that. There was no reason to keep your dignity anymore, not when so much was at stake.
"May I have that coat instead, then? My cloths are far from being wet, rather they're tattered," she said while covering herself with her slender arm
"Sorry," Satoru instantly felt terrible for thinking hateful things during a time like this. He made an exaggerated show of covering his eyes with his hand and outstretched his other hand with the coat in it to Ayane.
"Thank you very much! I'll be borrowing it for a while then," she smiled and put the coat on, after which she continued, "Alright, you can look now."
I'll try not to stare... too much," Satoru said with as much friendly sarcasm as he could manage in his voice. "How are you holding up?"
"I kind of almost broke down awhile ago, but I'm just fine now, thank you," Ayane responded, her smile didn't seem to escape her face.
"Don't mention it, we're in this together, for better or worse," Satoru hoped the words would serve to reassure her that he was ready to do anything for the people in their group. I'm Satoru, by the way."
"Mhm. Even though you heard me saying it before..." she scratched her hair lightly, "I'm Ayane Shirayuki, pleasure to meet you!"
"As always, the pleasure is mine, mademoiselle," Satoru took a deep bow and placed a light kiss on her hand, as if he was being introduced to a princess. He was trying to lighten up the mood as much as he could, and take her mind off of what was going on.
Ayane gave a light giggle, "That formality and all really reminds me of my friend who is a French aristocrat, her servant used to act that way."
"Is that so? I've only been to France once myself, on a business trip. Speaking of business, do you mind if I ask your occupation? Satoru inquired.
Ayane answered, "Just a high school student, really, on my second year. That said, I should totally ask my said friend to meet me somewhere on Japan soon... "
"Yeah, I'm sure that will be nice..." Satoru trailed off, envisioning the possibility that her friend could be dead, or worse, undead. "I know we're practically strangers, but I want you to know; I'm here for you, alright? The sudden passion that filled his voice even caught himself a little off-guard.
"Huh?! ... Mmn... right! I'll be in your care, then!" she blushed lightly as her smile faded, but quickly reverted back to her normal face. She then flipped out her cell phone from her pocket and proceeded to dialing some numbers, after which, she took the phone to her ears, and went to the corner of the room and started speaking silently, seeking privacy.
Satoru thought of the women around him and wondered what his mother had been like. His father had never really told him, and any time Satoru tried to touch the topic his father had been cross. What kind of woman was his mother? He was sure she was amazing; and beautiful. His uncle had once told him that her smile could light up a room, and he could almost picture it.
Ayane walks back towards Satoru after a few minutes and stated, "Alright, I'm done discussing things over with my friend, and we've decided to meet up at my grandfather's place."
"Right, sounds like a plan then." Satoru replied.
"We're going to talk to the man who paid tons of money... so yeah. I don't know what you guys planned though, so we'll probably be going separate ways, it seems." Ayane explained, slightly looking down.
Satoru nodded, "Until then, you have my sword at your back," he felt a sudden but inevitable sadness rush over him, he was enjoying talking to this girl and under different circumstances he thought thinks could work out much better. But these were the circumstances, and there wasn't much he could do to change that. He could try talking to her mysterious friend, maybe. It didn't look promising.
"As I said before, I'll be in your care then... Mister Knight-in-Shining-Armor!" Ayane spoke in a joking tone at the end of her sentence with a smile.
All the while when the conversations took place, Kris remembered the path back to the dining room as he ran to it. The only thing he needed to be aware of is the possible corpses walking down the walkways. Sliding his suit into it's slight translucent mode. Creeping down the hallways with his hand gripping the hilt of his blade. He was hoping to avoid a fight before arriving at the dining room. But luckily there was no incident. Reaching the front door he opens it quietly and holding the handle he turns around and silently closes the door. Sliding his finger up his arm again he switches off the suit. He might scare the others a bit, but they should recognize their suited companion. Looking around, he found Kahori still sound. "We reached the bridge and were able to rescue the survivor. How are things here?" asks Kris, sheathing his blade.
Christine and Cliff was startled at first but they recognized his voice, "Ah, Kris. We're fine in here, yet 'they' still try to breach this room from the back door," Cliff responded calmly while staring at the back door and continued "Kris, are there any zombies left in there? As you can see, I can't run and Kahori is sleeping. And, where's Sophia and Satoru?"
Kris removed his face mask so that they could hear him easier. "No, they are cleared out and I had the others lock the door of the bridge. Sophia is fatigued but with Satoru and the survivor they'll be okay for a while. Still, I think we should move as soon as possible," answered Kris. Moving over to the group, he saw Kahori and chuckled. "How she sleeps through all of this, I will never know." he comments.
"Don't ask why... I'm also clueless about it..." Cliff chuckled for a moment. Christine lifted Kahori again from her seat. "I'll carry her. I'm sure that Cliff can walk for now, albeit a bit slowly. And sorry, Mr Kris, in this condition, our pace is really slow," Christine apologized to him. Cliff stood up and felt his ankle recovering, for a bit. "Lead the way, Kris."
"The path to the bridge is clear. I will help Cliff walk. And no need to apologize. I'm sure that when he's better, he'll make it up to us somehow," Kris stated, smiling. Standing next to Cliff on his left, he held his arm over his shoulder. That way he could still shoot accurately with the one hand if needed, while supporting Cliff. Heading to the door, he pushed it open gently, looking around for a moment, "Alright, lets go," he then stepped out, making sure to support Cliff and keep him off that foot.
The group moves at a decent pace with Kris helping Cliff. Kahori is still asleep in Chritine's arms. The walk back to the bridge is a quiet one with no zombies barring the path. This was a good thing for them, but it made little sense. Had the zombies eaten through the rest of the ship that quickly? And moved on to the lower levels to break into room perhaps? It seemed like the more likely scenario, but left a bad image in Kris' head. "Things finally seem to be looking up don't they?" Kris commented in a hushed tone as they reached for the now-locked door.
Zandorf: Kahori attempts to run away in great speed due to her... sugar rush, a bad one apparently. A dice is to be rolled to check if she runs fast enough that even Christine can't catch her and stop her, 4 is required.
Dice result: 1
2 + 1 = 3
(Your character falls instead due to sleepiness and lack of stretching up! Christine safely catches your character.)
