Serious question for atheists

landathien, I would like to ask why I, mindless sheep as I presumably may be for believing that morality is important for society to function, should have to listen to you preach your dirty teachings to me? If I am indeed a mindless sheep, you will unfairly influence me by promoting to me a system of beliefs other than the one I already possess, which would be very tragic.



Why do you say that logic and the inherently apparent are the way to go, so much so, in fact, that trying to put forth an alternate idea in public is dishonest or immoral or otherwise unjustified. Of course, this isn't even a problem if morality is a grotesque construct that serves no purpose.

Unless you have a very specific meaning of science in mind, science has pretty much always existed. Why do cars and planes have anything to do with religion?



Like the existence of dark matter, of the usage of mathematical concepts that are undefinable physically or really?



Which is why the market values education, doctors, lawyers and engineers make good salaries, and the government employs people who have degrees and job experience.

These are mutually exclusive? You can't believe in some god and also be a good mathematician for instance? Leibniz did quite well in mathematics while believing in a god.

Look the best stratagy here is "don't ask, don't tell" works for the military so why not everthing else? But here's the problem: the bible tells us to spread the word among the world. Like others before have said, I don't think atheists push their views on other people any more than religious people do. It is human nature to dislike someone's views if they are different from your own. This has been proven in history many times.
Not that it is good, just that it is.

I've noticed there's been a lot of generalization.

I would just like to go on the bored saying that A) it is possible to be religious and logical, and B) Not every religious guy goes around singing praises to god(s) trying to convert people.

I don't try to tear anyone away from their religion. I have a right to be skeptical and voice my skepticism as any religious person has a right to talk to me about their beliefs. However, I have a nice unspoken rule with my friends that they don't try to convert me and I won't try to dismantle their religion in turn. I have managed to have some nice conversations with some people though about religion, but only if they give me the opportunity to retort everything they've said. Actually managed to learn quite a bit on both sides, really.

This paragraph in its entirety is saying that religious humans are stupid for their beliefs and they go against evolution's law by surviving, and you say it's blasphemy for these people to live? You didn't mean to be harsh? Your edit is one hell of an understatement my friend. You're so fucking full of yourself, that it's dripping on the floor every time you speak.

Not only that, you say believing in an invisible entity is stupid, but you go on to believe the theory of evolution concocted by one man. Not only that, the probability that such bacterial life forms millions of years ago would actually evolve into us in the end is so low, you'd need more faith to believe in evolution than in God.

Because we believe in logic and reason and religion, with it's invisible man in the sky who is everywhere, watching everything you do, every minute of every day, doesn't use logic much. Anyway, to me, Religion is a lot like 4chan.

It makes no fucking sense to me, but there seems to be an underlying set of logic to it that draws people in, otherwise it would have died off long ago.
